Avon ends Ben Davis’ 15 game winnin’ streak in a game for the AGES! “CLASSIC”

Sampson

AVON, IN. — First of all I need to apologize to the Avon faithful because I didn’t believe that fat meat was greasy. I had to taste it for myself and boy was it greasy. In my “HILARIOUS M.I.C. Football Weekly Preview: Week 2!” I said that I didn’t think that Avon was as good as advertised because they don’t play the same level of competition as the M.I.C. week in and week out.

Well playas…they made me eat my words and my darn camera!!! Not only did they knock off the defendin’ Class 6A State Champs but they ended their 15 game winnin’ streak in a battle for the ages!!! It was NUTS from start to finish!!!

No.3 Avon received the openin’ kick off in a touch back. So they started on their own 20 yard line. They came out on the very first play from scrimmage with two quarterbacks on the field. Mason Miller lined up in the slot and startin’ QB Henry Hesson hit him with the bubble screen only for Miller to launch it down field to Wallace Stovall for an 80 yard touchdown strike catchin’ Ben Davis sleepin’ at the wheel.

From that moment on the defendin’ state champs were on their heels. BD went three and out and Avon jumped right back into the driver’s seat leanin’ the seat all of the way back turnin’ the music all the way up and hittin’ the gas. Sampson James, the Ohio State recruit, finished the night with 178 yards on 25 carries and two TD’s. Ole boy drug BD up the field right into the end zone on the very next possession. By the time Big Momma got into her seat good and took the foil off of her hot dog Avon was up 14-0.

It looked as if the Orioles were goin’ to beat the brakes off of these boyz but Ben Davis settled down and looked to the not so secret, secret weapon Delbert Mimms III to “walk it out” like my man Unk would say. On the ensuin’ possession Mimms ran wild as the Giants marched back down the field to make it 14-7. He finished the night with 107 yards on 21 carries and two TD’s.

However, Avon never allowed Ben Davis to settle down as they went right back up 21-7. What was so crazy about this ball game was that neither defense could get settled and there were virtually no stops until the 5 minute mark of the second quarter.

Avon misses a field goal while up 21-14 to give BD the rock deep in Giant territory. However, Ben Davis stalls and is lookin’ at a 4 and 4 on their own 35 yard line. Coach Jason Simmons and Co. decide to go for it and doesn’t get it. The Orioles takes that bad boy and punches it right in makin’ it 28-14.

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! That was the game changer right there bruh but they never gave up. The defendin’ state champs were able to knock down a 30 yard Isaac Torres field goal just before the half ended to make it 28-17. Avon was able to keep the Giants at bay nearly the entire third quarter but with 1:17 left they scored to make it 28-23. Now the place is on edge.

Avon goes into the fourth quarter only up by 5 points when it looked like they were initially goin’ to run away with this thing.

Fast forward to 2 minutes left in this pressure cooker of a game and Avon’s up 41-30. All of a sudden Ben Davis’ Dominic Day goes 80 yards down the middle of the darn field on a slant from QB Trent Gipson. They miss the extra point so now it’s 41-36.

Ben Davis sets up for the onside kick because it’s like 1:36 left to play. They kick the onside and it takes the biggest bounce known to man and the place goes NUTS!!! BD recovers it on the Avon 29 yard line with 1:26 left. However, with a holdin’ call and multiple false starts the Giants were lookin’ at a 4th and 33 as Avon takes care of business in the end. However, it a great football game!!! Salute to both teams for playin’ a helluva game but I’ve got to give Avon mad love for jumpin’ out of the ride swingin’ out of the gate. Stop me when I start lyin’!

1) Dun: noun – the person in question, dude, guy, etc. It’s whoever I’m talkin’ about and its non-gender specific.

2) Put it where the goats can get it: verb phrase – to make it as elementary as possible. To put it at ground level so everyone can understand it.

3) Ole boy: noun – the person that I’m currently talkin’ about.

The G is excluded from the endings of all words because the G is near and dear to my heart because I’m from “The G” which is Gary, Indiana. So I only use the G when I’m talkin’ about “The G!”
