On Wednesday federal prosecutors played a recording to the jury of former Arizona assistant Emmanual “Book” Richardson telling aspiring agent Christian Dawkins that head coach Sean Miller was paying Deandre Ayton 10 racks per month while ole boy was at Arizona.
Prosecutors played the call which was intercepted by wiretaps on June 20, 2017 near the end of their case. Dawkins and Richardson were discussing how to recruit Ayton to become a client of Dawkins’ new company. The feds got all of the juice in that one call. They have these two cats going back and forth on how Miller’s in the way etc. However, Richardson does admit that Miller’s paying ole boy 10 racks per month..
Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! The NCAA and it’s member institutions are so full of crap it’s ridiculous. Everybody and they baby’s momma wants to get paid as much money as they can get and win as many games and championships as they can win but everybody wants to claim to be clean. Stop with this foolishness. Everybody that’s winning is breaking some type of rule in the NCAA’s lengthy book of foolishness.
What ole boy at Arizona was doing is no different than what anybody that he’s competing with is doing. They’re all recruiting the same caliber of athlete from the same types of environments. So why does a kid choose one school over another. You do the math.
So stop acting like Sean Miller or ole boy over at LSU did something so egregious that they should be locked up or banned from coaching. These coaches are making millions of dollars per year off of the backs of children and the children responsible for those millions shouldn’t get nothing? Are you drunk?
Did you see where Dabo Swinney just signed a 10 year deal worth $93 million last week to coach a bunch of kids football at Clemson? He’s not only getting bread for coaching but he’s getting bread for a coach’s show, sneaker money and appearence money. The university is selling tickets, parking and merchandise not to mention boyz specifically selling the kid’s individual jerseys in the bookstore without the student-athlete making a dime off of his likeness. You do the math.
Deandre Ayton eventually became the No.1 overall pick in the 2018 NBA draft. How else do you think Arizona was going to land him. Everybody and their Uncle LeRoy was recruiting him and offering him something. Cats like that aren’t just happy to get free education because they don’t need an education. They need somewhere to hoop for 6 months to get ready for the draft. So telling them that you offer a great education is a waste of time.
The NCAA needs to stop with this foolishness of wanting to make a fortune and these schools wanting to win at all costs if they want to police behavior. Why? Because when the fire place blows up in their faces they start pointing fingers and turning folks in. It’s asinine!!! You do the math and stop me when I start lyin’! And will somebody please tell me why the feds are involved?
