Roy H. Williams, the best selling author, once said, “A smart man makes a mistake, learns from it, and never makes that mistake again. But a wise man finds a smart man and learns from him how to avoid the mistake altogether.” John Wooden gave it to us like this, “Whatever you do in life, surround yourself with smart people who’ll argue with you.” Then Bill Gates hit a boy in the head when he spit, “Success is a lousy teacher. It seduces smart people into thinking they can’t lose.”
Well playas…Antonio Cromartie thought that relative success in the NFL would ultimately keep him from losin’! The four time Pro Bowler learned a valuable lesson on October 4th when the Indianapolis Colts cut him! What lesson is that? Don’t do what a boy has already told you not to do when you’re barely on the freakin’ team. He was the only player on the roster that took a knee durin’ the National Anthem before the San Diego game and then the Jacksonville joint out in London. Not only did he take a knee in London bruh but he threw up the black power fist too.
While at the owners fall meetings in Houston, Colts owner, Jim Irsay told a boy at USA Today how he really felt about the ratings being down and exactly what he thought about duns like Colin Kaepernick and others followin’ him into protest.
Ole boy said, “I think it’s the wrong venue. It hasn’t been a positive thing. What we all have to be aware of as players, owners, PR people, equipment managers, is when the lights go on we are entertainment. We are being paid to put on a show. There are other places to express yourself.”
Now shortly after he made those comments Cromartie’s wife took to Instagram to say this, “You are Nothing More than an Entertainer. Just Shut and do what we say. You have No rights as along as you are working for me.. there are other places for you to fight and stand for what you believe.” It went on to say, “One things for sure I know my husband was told Not to take a Knee and he went with his heart and he took one. And that cost him his Job.. and Clearly this Statement backs that up… Just a Paid To put on a show.”
Now let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! She’s probably right bruh! I thought the same thing when the dun was cut but didn’t write about it because he actually stunk up the field the last game he played. And on some real talk, I probably would have cut his butt too. And that’s the edited version. What Cromartie and his wife NEED to understand is that JIM IRSAY OWNS THE FREAKIN’ TEAM!!!
Now if he’s willin’ to tell a boy at USA Today how he really feels then you already know that he told the darn team the same thing. Cromartie had only been with the team since like August and simply because they had crazy injuries. The Colts top three corners, Darius Butler, Vontae Davis and Patrick Robinson were all about to come back so he was on the short list to be cut anyway! So why, if a boy has already told you not to take a knee would you take it and put the cherry on top with the fist, when you’ve got the propensity to be dull anyway? You’ve got to be smarter than that bruh!
I’m not blamin’ Jim Irsay for being Jim Irsay! I’m blamin’ you for walkin’ out into the middle of traffic at night with a wet suit on when you knew it was rainin’! Now don’t get it twisted, I’m all for Kaepernick and everybody else protestin’ injustice but my bread isn’t guaranteed. I’ve got a wife and two kids playa with one in college. If a boy specifically tells me not to do something on the job I’m not doin’ it until I find another job. I can’t help nobody broke!
You can’t take those types of chances with your livelihood when your livelihood isn’t GUARANTEED! Colin Kaepernick was guaranteed to make $12 million this year bruh! Do you really think that dun would be protestin’ if he were the 53rd man on the roster? No way!!!
Let me put it where the goats can get it. You can’t make that type of sacrifice when you’ve got a family to feed bruh. Durin’ the Civil Rights Movement most of the people leadin’ and participatin’ in the protests were college students. Not fully grown adults with jobs and careers. My parents were college students in the south durin’ that time and they marched and participated in the sit-ins etc. Not their parents! Why? Because they would have lost their jobs and then nobody would have been eatin’ or goin’ to college. You can’t help the movement or your family if you’re unemployed playboy.
The next time a boy tells you that he’s not playin’ you better listen to him. When your bread isn’t GUARANTEED you’ve got to shut up and go to work. Let the duns that can afford to put their reps on the line lead the way. You’ve gotta eat.
Like I’ve been tellin’ you boyz since Kaepernick started the protest, just wait until hoop season starts. Why? Because EVERYBODY in the NBA has GUARANTEED contracts! They could give two dead flies smashed about whether an owner or fans like them or what they’re doin’. Stop me when I start lyin’!
1) Spit: verb – to say
2) Dun: noun – the person in question, dude, guy, etc. It’s whoever I’m talkin’ about and its non-gender specific.
3) Put it where the goats can get it: verb phrase – to make it as elementary as possible. To put it at ground level so everyone can understand it.
