THE BUBBLE — Santana Moss once said, while he was a student-athlete at the University of Miami, “Big time players make big time plays in big time games!” Well playas…Anthony Davis did just that with 2.1 seconds left to play in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals with his Lakers trailing 103-102. Ole boy dropped a three at the buzzer while wearing the Mamba black uniform to give the Lakers a 105-103 win and a 2-0 series lead.

Frank Vogel had this to say after the game, “That’s a shot Kobe Bryant would hit. To me, AD coming off, just flying to the wing like that, catch-and-shoot with the biggest game on the line of our season, nothing but net, it’s a Mamba shot.”

LeBron, who finished the night with 26 points, had this to say, “Special moment for a special player. Happy to be a part of it.” By the time boyz spoke with AD, who led the way for the Lakers with 31 points, was as humble as they get. “In the jersey we wore tonight, it just makes it even more special,” the star forward said.

Denver has to be mentally drained and exhausted after losing that one. What looked like another Nuggets comeback ended in a tragic loss and now they’re staring at a 2-0 deficit against a team that has proven that they won’t just roll over and die like the Clippers did. The Nuggets were down 16, 19 and 12 points in the final three games against the Clippers, when they came roaring back to erase a 3-1 deficit to advance to the Western Conference Finals.

Yeah playa, this seems to be different type of beast. LeBron came at them early scoring 20 of his 26 points in the first half. Then AD took over in the second half scoring the Lakers final 10 points and 22 of his 31 in the second half.

As hard as the Nuggets played in this one only to lose has to be devastating. The mountain just got even more difficult to climb. No room for error going forward and they’ve got to hope that the Lakers miss the team bus at this point. Game 3 is Tuesday night.
