WASHINGTON — Indianapolis freshman, Aaron Henry, led the Michigan State Spartans past the LSU Tigers in a 80-63 rout to advance to the Elite Eight. Ole boy came out of the trunk ballin’ and didn’t stop until the clock read zeros. The former Ben Davis Giant led the Spartans with 20 points.

Michigan State jumped out of the ride and went on an 8-0 run with the lil’/big homie Henry knocking down their first 5 points on a jumper and three-boy from the baseline. Then Cassius Winston followed up with a another three forcing LSU to call a timeout to try to figure out what the license plate was of that Big Body Chevy that had just side swiped them.

The Tigers seemed to settle down a bit as Tremont Waters started getting to the rack to narrow the margin 10-5 very quickly. However, Michigan State got bench points right out of the gate as Gabe Brown introduced himself with two 3-pointers in a row.

Aaron Henry was still out there ballin’ bruh. He’d scored 9 of this 20 points, grabbed 5 of his total 8 rebounds and 3 of his 6 assists which at the time led the team in all three categories. The Spartans had gone up 29-17 with 7:41 left in the half.

LSU went ice cold as they went darn near 7 minutes without a field goal before scoring to make it 34-19. However, Aaron Henry dropped another one on them to put the Spartans up 36-19. Tom Izzo’s squad was on fiyyahh as they sprinted through the winners of the SEC like wet toilet paper to get to the break up 40-28.

LSU came out of the break and went on a 8-0 run which was actually a 11-0 run going back to the first half. Before I could bite into my hot dog LSU had narrowed the margin to 4 points being only down 40-36.

Michigan State woke up and went on a 5-0 run to answer but the Tigers continued to battle and this was all within the first 3 minutes of the second half. The Spartans continued to keep LSU at bay with marksman-like shooting by cats like Gabe Brown and Aaron Henry both freshman continuing to knock down threes.

The next thing you know the Spartans were back up by 15, 56-41 because they were shooting the lights outta the gym like snipers at the Carter. At the 9:22 mark they were up 66-48 and looking to do more damage.

The last 7 minutes of that foolishness was a matter of formality. Michigan State owned these cats from the word go. It was never really a contest as Tom Izzo had his boyz ready to go and they never once trailed in this one. Up next the Elite Eight!!!
