Why the White House would be safe in extending an invitation to the NHL Champions! “Obvious”

George Orwell once said, “Sometimes the first duty of intelligent men is the restatement of the obvious.” One of the first rules of askin’ questions is to never ask one that has an obvious answer because you’re literally wastin’ both your time and the person’s time you’re talkin’ to.

Well playas…the Washington Post sent a reporter out to speak with the newly crowned Stanley Cup Champions and they actually asked a question that had an obvious answer. The reporter asked them if they were to be invited to the White House would they go? Most of the players said yes they would go if asked. However, the lone brother on the team, Devonte Smith-Pelly, said that he wouldn’t. Obvious exchange of information right?

Devonte Smith-Pelly the lone brother on the team.

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! They’ll definitely be invited because the threat of the majority of the players sayin’ no is slim to none because there’s only one brother on the team. Sure, there are some white cats that could potentially say no but the threat of most of the team not showin’ up isn’t goin’ to happen. Why? Because most people aren’t throwin’ themselves into the middle of somethin’ that has nothin’ to do with them, unfortunately.

The reason that we’ve got this whole issue swirlin’ around the White House visits is because our president jumped into the middle of an issue of freedom of speech. He’s tryin’ to force folks to do what he wants them to do instead of what they have a freedom to do accordin’ to our constitution and that’s what our flag represents.

The reason for the protests in the first place was bring attention to police brutality, racial and social injustice. Fortunately, if you’re white in America those aren’t your issues for the most part. So very few white athletes like a Chris Long are goin’ to make a political statement and not show up to the White House in defiance of the president because it’s not their problem. It’s sad but it’s true.

That’s the problem! Until these issues become important enough for ALL people to say enough is enough and not just black folks we’ll continue to see this type of foolishness occurrin’ in our society.

However, I thought that it was silly to even ask the Capitals that question because there’s only one black guy on the team and if he decides not to show up the party will still take place. Now maybe there is more than one brother on the team but if so, does it really matter? There aren’t 70 percent of them on the team. That’s my point. Unlike with the Philadelphia Eagles, the Golden State Warriors or the Minnesota Lynx where 70 percent of the team is black and wouldn’t show up if begged because everybody feels the same way about this foolishness. Without them showin’ up the photo op would look silly right? That’s why Trump either pulled their invitation or flat out didn’t invite them altogether. This is so obvious right?

It’s all about savin’ face and I think that he’s pretty safe with the NHL Champions. Stop me when I start lyin’!

The G is excluded from the endings of all words because the G is near and dear to my heart because I’m from “The G” which is Gary, Indiana. So I only use the G when I’m talkin’ about “The G!”
