Why No.6 Center Grove will upset No.1 Warren Central! “Time of Possession”

Center Grove's Carson Steele, ran wild on Warren last season as a freshman. Now that he's a sophomore with crazy confidence. Can they slow him down tonight? Photo: TheJayGravesReport

GREENWOOD, IN. — The moment we’ve all been waitin’ for has now arrived! It’s Game Day Week 1 of the 2018 Indiana high school football season and boyz can’t wait to get it in. Y’all smell that? IT’S FOOTBALL SEASON and there’s not a better way to kick it off than to have two of the best teams in the state goin’ at it.

No.1 Warren Central travels down to No.6 Center Grove into probably the most hostile environment in all of Indiana high school football. A place called Ray Skillman Stadium where darn near 8,000 crazed fans pile into the joint every week to cheer on the Trojans.

Yea playa, it’s gonna be good. Both teams return a boat load of senior leadership and they’ve both got a “Mr. Excitement” that can explode on a boy and take it to the house at any moment. Warren Central has the Incomparable David Bell that is probably the most excitin’ player in the state with the ball in his hands. The wide receiver has been electrifyin’ fans since his freshman year.

After three years of puttin’ boyz on notice it’s finally show time for the senior!!! Durin’ his first three seasons he’s already caught 155 balls for 2,925 yards. He’s an All-American and accordin’ to 247Sports.com he’s the No.2 ranked recruit from the state. He’s the 16th ranked wide receiver in the country and the 106th ranked player overall in America and everybody and their baby’s momma is recruitin’ him. Ole boy has narrowed his choices down to Purdue, Indiana, Penn State, Ohio State and Iowa but what does that mean today? It means that everybody else is still hollerin’ at him because none of that means a thing until he signs a Letter of Intent in either December or February.

Then on the other side of the fence Center Grove’s got the War Horse, a stud sophomore by the name of Carson Steele. This dun shocked the football world last season as a freshman playin’ in the best conference in the state puttin’ up 1,700 and 20 touchdowns averagin’ 150 yards per game. It was NUTS!!!

That’s why MaxPreps has him on their 2018 pre-season high school football sophomore All-American team. The 6’1″ 205 pound running back is all that and a bag of old school Funyuns with a side of frosted penny cookies and don’t forget the red pop playa.

In his very first game in high school this time last season he ran all over then No.3 Warren Central on the road puttin’ up more than 133 yards and darn near brought Center Grove back from the ashes in the second half of that ball game. It was incredible to watch.

So let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! We’ve got two senior laden teams with an All-Amercan playmaker on each squad. Both defenses are strapped and both coaches are excellent. Something’s gotta give.

How’s it goin’ down playboy? Well…it’s goin’ to be wet tonight and if nothin’ else the it’ll slow down the pace of the game. Like I said in my “Hilarious M.I.C. Football Weekly Preview: Week 1” Warren has to get the ball into David Bell’s hands all night. He’s got to have at least 10 to 12 touches not targets bruh.

I don’t care how they do it but he’s got to get the touches. They’ve got to air it out down field, bubble screens, quick passes, wild cat him etc. I don’t care but he’s got to have it in his hands. That means that quarterback Jayden George has to be composed every second of this ball game to get the ball to Bell. That’s the critical piece for Warren.

With it bein’ wet tonight that favors Center Grove and their obvious ground attack with the War Horse. They’ve got senior QB Jack Moore but they don’t usually throw the ball much anyway. He’s played ball games in the past where he’ll throw it literally twice. Their ground game it so potent that even if a boy knows they’re goin’ to run it they can’t stop it.

That means that time of possession will play a critical role tonight down in Greenwood. If the War Horse gets out of the gate early and often it’s a wrap because David Bell and Co. can’t hurt you if they’re standin’ on the sideline watchin’ most of the night. That’s why I’ve got to pick Center Grove in the upset. It’s ain’t personal playas it’s business. I’ve got to call it like I see. One thing I do know for sure is that it’ll be a darn good one. Stop me when I start lyin’! Y’all smell that? IT’S GAME TIME PLAYAS!!!!

Playas Thesaurus:

1) Dun: noun – the person in question, dude, guy, etc. It’s whoever I’m talkin’ about and its non-gender specific.

2) Put it where the goats can get it: verb phrase – to make it as elementary as possible. To put it at ground level so everyone can understand it.

3) Ole boy: noun – the person that I’m currently talkin’ about.

The G is excluded from the endings of all words because the G is near and dear to my heart because I’m from “The G” which is Gary, Indiana. So I only use the G when I’m talkin’ about “The G!”
