As I was watchin’ the NBA draft on Thursday night I saw three cats from the University of Kentucky go in the top 14. Every basketball program in America wants to sign the best players available so that they can win as many games/championships as possible. Why? Because it’s big money it. The more they win the more bread, the school makes. The more bread the school makes, the more new buildings pop up. The more new buildings pop up the more research there is, the more Federal bread that gets poured into the joint.
Did I mention that if the school is winnin’ it stays on television and when that happens not only are they able to recruit the best athletes but they are able to recruit the best students from around the world. Nobody knew about Duke until they started hoopin’! Nobody had ever heard of Georgetown until they started hoopin’! Nobody cared about the University of Kentucky until they started winnin’ national championships years ago.
As a result of boyz winnin’ students apply at a higher rate. I saw a stat that blew my mind years ago. It said that followin’ a national title the freshman enrollment goes up 30 percent. So everybody affiliated with the program wins.
My point here is that EVERYBODY wants a piece of the pie but there’s only so much of it to go around. That’s why in order to win you’ve got to be able to recruit.
Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! Say what you want about John Calipari but that dun has figured it bruh. He’s said for years that he’s all about gettin’ his kids to the NBA and changin’ their families lives forever. Back in 2010 when ole boy saw five of his players drafted in the first round he made a statement that upset everybody and their baby’s momma. Ole boy said, “I’d like to say it is the biggest day in the history of Kentucky’s program.”
Boyz went nuts!!! Especially old head former Kentucky players just like duns on Thursday night sittin’ around spittin’ venom at him for tellin’ the world that it’s all about gettin’ his players to this point. What people don’t realize is that with every syllable that comes out of his mouth he’s recruitin’ the best 14 or 15 year old kid in America that’s got the DNA to play in the NBA that HAS TO GO TO COLLEGE FOR AT LEAST A YEAR!!!
You’ve got to be crazy not to see what he’s doin’ and he’s the only cat that has figured it out. Bruh…duns are goin’ to the NBA regardless! Why? Because they’ve got the DNA and the bread is GUARANTEED!!! And guess what playa? The majority of cats goin’ are growin’ up in the ghetto without a daddy and Big Momma is strugglin’ to raise them. So they could care two rips about winnin’ a national championship. They’re tryin’ to get momma out of the projects or the hood in general.
Cal isn’t tryin’ to recruit the dun that’s tryin’ to go to college. Let duns like Indiana recruit those cats. If a kid needs to stay in school for four years he’s not lookin’ for him bruh. He’s recruitin’ the genius’ the savants of basketball. That’s who he’s lookin’ for.
So when kids see a boy talkin’ about gettin’ cats to the league and then bein’ able to do it. Guess where they’re signin’ up to play for that one year? KENTUCKY!!! Now would they go to the league if they’d played anywhere else? Sure that would and Cal knows that too. However, he’s just smart enough to tell a boy up front what the end game is for him. “Ima get you to the league playa! Look at my resume!!!”
He’s sent 41 players to the league!!! He’s had four cats go No.1 overall in Derrick Rose, Anthony Davis, John Wall and Karl-Anthony Towns.
Now does he really care that much about the kid? Who cares? They both are gettin’ out of the relationship what they want. It’s no different than a dun sportin’ a bad chick that doesn’t really care about him but he’s rich. He wants a bad one on his arm and she wants to be pampered. They both are gettin’ what they want out of the relationship so it’s cool.
Cal wants to win as many games as humanly possible at Kentucky so that he’ll keep signin’ extensions. If he keeps signin’ the best of the best players he’ll eventually win another national title. There’s absolutely no pressure on him because he’s already won a title there so that’s out of the way. The school gets what it wants in terms of publicity, new buildings, research, federal grants and more students and the ball players get drafted and get Big Momma out of the projects. EVERYBODY’S WINNIN’!
So tell me again what’s wrong with what Cal is sayin’? Stop me when I start lyin’!
1) Dun: noun – the person in question, dude, guy, etc. It’s whoever I’m talkin’ about and its non-gender specific.
The G is excluded from the endings of all words because the G is near and dear to my heart because I’m from “The G” which is Gary, Indiana. So I only use the G when I’m talkin’ about “The G!”
