Why Center Grove’s “The War Horse” Carson Steele is as impressive as they come! “Ready”

Carson Steele better known as "The War Horse" was not playing with these boyz!!! Photo: TheJayGravesReport

At the beginning of the 2017 season Center Grove traveled over to Warren Central to open the season and Coach Moore had previously told me that he would be playing a freshman at running back. I heard him but I really didn’t pay too much attention to what he said because, well…he was a freshman. They were down like 21-0 at the break when all of a sudden at the start of the third quarter this kid explodes down the middle of the field for a 70 yard gallop and the legend of the “War Horse” was born.

Carson Steele finished his freshman season with more than 1,700 yards rushing and 20 touchdowns carrying the entire team on his back in the best conference in football. Don’t think that it was a fluke because he’s followed his freshman season up with an even more impressive sophomore campaign with 1,905 yards and 27 touchdowns and counting! They’ve still got games to play. Center Grove’s in the regional tonight.

He’s been one of the most impressive kids I’ve seen play high school football over the past two seasons. A big reason why No.7 Center Grove is playing in the regional against No.2 Avon is because of the War Horse. Don’t get it twisted, he’s  a major player and if you haven’t seen this kid tote the rock you’re missing out. They rely on him heavily and he answers the bell all night.

It’s rare to see a kid so young and so dominant in the game of football because their bodies haven’t caught up to the level of competition they’re facing every week. Well playas, the War Horse is always looking for someone to catch up to him. It’s NUTS!!!

I just wanted to remind you guys that he’s down in Greenwood and he’s not hiding from competition and neither is Center Grove. It should be a good one down there tonight as his Trojans take on Sampson James and Co. from Avon. Stop me when I start lyin’!
