FANTASYLAND — It’s always mind blowing to me to hear all of these media-types jump off of the deep end telling everyone that Tom Brady is the greatest football player of all-time. We’ve been hearing the GOAT conversation since he and Aaron Rogers battled on Sunday Night Football this past season. Now that he’s playing in his 9th Super Bowl in 18 seasons duns are jumping off of the deep end labeling him the GREATEST FOOTBALL PLAYER OF ALL TIME.

I’ll listen to a boy telling me that he’s the G.O.A.T. at the quarterback position because the numbers don’t lie and winning is everything. In that position he’s the CEO on the field and he’s winning more than anybody that have ever played the position. So yes, he’s the G.O.A.T. at quarterback.

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! This isn’t basketball bruh!!! In the game of football every position has a unique skill set. That means that everybody isn’t essentially doing the same thing like they do in basketball.

On the hoop court EVERYBODY shoots, dribbles to some degree, rebounds, blocks and steals. They all play defense and run up and down the floor. So therefore, you can have the GOAT conversation because everybody has the opportunity to do the same thing regardless of position.

In football it’s impossible to call a player the greatest football player of all-time that only has the ability to play one position and do one thing. Tom Brady is the greatest quarterback of all-time, period point blank. Unless he can play multiple positions and ball out at those positions he’s not the greatest football player of all-time especially when we’ve seen other players do it.

When we start talking about greatest football players of all-time we’ve got to talk about cats like Deion Sanders, Charles Woodson, Rod Woodson and George Taliaferro. There are others but off of the top of my head they jump out. These cats played multiples positions on the field. We’ve seen these players line up at corner and or safety, wide receiver, running back and we saw them return punts and kicks.

Heck, George Taliaferro, the first black player ever drafted by an NFL team (Chicago Bears) played more positions, seven, than any player to ever play the game. He played quarterback, running back, wide receiver, punter, kick returner, punt returner and defensive back. Tom Brady isn’t doing all of that.

Are you trying to tell me that Tom Brady is a better football player than Jerry Rice, Lawrence Taylor, Walter Payton, Dick Butkus, not to mention again the duns I mentioned above? Are you kidding me?

Just because Tom Brady is winning football Super Bowls and he’s the leader of the team doesn’t make him a better all around football player than other guys. Winning is a team accomplishment. Why? Because football is the ultimate team sport. Brady can’t block, tackle, run or catch so how is he even in the conversation of greatest of all time football players if he only plays one position? That makes absolutely no sense.

He’s put up crazy numbers and they are to be respected!! He’s won more regular-season games (207) and postseason games (29) than anyone who ever played his position. He’s put up more than 80,000 total yards (passing, rushing, and receiving) in his career, postseason included. That’s more than any player in NFL history. He’s won 5 Super Bowls as well. However, just because he’s got more yardage than anybody doesn’t make him the greatest football player of all-time. There are great football players that have played multiple positions that have never gained a single yard because they played defense their entire career. And winning Super Bowls are a TEAM award not an individual award.

He’s by far the greatest quarterback we’ve ever seen but boyz need to slow their roll on making him the greatest football player we’ve ever seen not until he starts playing other positions. Stop me when I start lyin’!
