Warren Central’s Romeir Elliott is TheJayGravesReport’s “Player of the Year!” “Hands Down”

Warren Central's Romeir Elliott did enough work to win the Mr. Football Award hands down but wasn't even a finalist. Photo: TheJayGravesreport

THE FAR EAST EAST SIDE — On Friday I’ll be completing my second full season covering the best conference in football with my coverage of the Class 6A State Championship Game between No.1 Warren Central and No.2 Carmel! What conference? The Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference better known in these streets as The M.I.C.!

Well playas…the talent in that league is ridiculous and in order to be named the Player of the Year on anybody’s media platform means that you’ve balled out.

I’ve seen everybody play and believe me, there were a plethora of studs on multiple teams but the kid that stood out to me more than any one else this season was Warren Central running back Romeir Elliott better known as Secretariat from THE FAR EAST SIDE! He’s a straight stud!!! From the first game of the season against Center Grove he laid the framework for what he was going to do to boyz in 2018.

He was one third of the three headed monster known as DubZilla as he put up crazy numbers finishing with 2,818 yards and 38 touchdowns. The other two heads put up ridiculous numbers too as Jayden George The Incredible dropped off 2,852 and 40 touchdowns and The Incomparable David Bell finished with 1,507 and 22 touchdowns. On some real talk, DubZilla could have been the darn “Players of the Year” while you’re playing.

However, I was most impressed with Romeir because he ran all over EVERYBODY EVERY week. There were several nights that he put up 340-plus yards and at least 5 touchdowns like it was normal. The 5’7″ 189-pound Southern Illinois commit did all of this against the best defenses in the state.

He was crazy elusive, could change directions, stop on a dime, explode on a defender with ease and go 80 yards to the house like it was automatic. When Warren needed a tough first down on a 3 and 1 he was the work horse. In every situation he was of crazy value to his team. If I had a vote for Mr. Football he would get my vote. That’s how impressive he was in 2018.

Props to everyone else ballin’ out of control in the M.I.C. but my pick for Player of the Year is hands down Secretariat from THE FAR EAST SIDE!!!  Stop me when I start lyin’!

There’s nothing to translate this morning unless you’re stuck on the “z” in boyz like you have no street credibility. Step your game up playa.
