Warren Central jumps all over Center Grove but Trayce Jackson-Davis put some Respect on his name!

THE FAR EAST SIDE — The No.8 ranked Center Grove Trojans rolled over to the Far East Side with the newly named McDonald’s All-American, Trayce Jackson-Davis, in the back seat of the Maybach like Diddy. Respect his game and the hustle. However, No.2 Warren Central was not trippin’ on the fact that he came in with his name up in lights. He had to show up and play the game like everybody else. When the smoke finally cleared Dub-C had stripped the ride clean and left it on sitting blocks with a 68-54 win.

Now don’t get it twisted, Trayce Jackson-Davis gave them the business finishing with 31 points and 15 rebounds!! Boyz had to respect his game but it’s a team game. Unfortunately, his TEAM wasn’t better than Warren Central’s TEAM on Thursday night.

Warren Central jumped out the whip and went on a 5-0 run to start the game. Before you knew it they were up 7-2 and then the beast woke up and started running boyz off. Tracy Jackson-Davis knocked down two quick shots scoring 4 points in the blink of an eye with one powerful YOKE!! That’s a massive dunk for y’all that don’t know.

He went up for a second one and it was blocked but he was simply letting boyz know that he was indeed in the building. Ole boy wasn’t giving up the sneakers and jewelry that easily bruh. At the end of the first quarter Warren Central was up 15-11. Jackson-Davis was showing his strength and poise but the Warriors were playing some ridiculously great defense. They were trapping and collapsing on the big boy every chance they could get and he was still getting buckets. I think every man on the floor switched on to him at one point but they kept everybody else in check in the process.

WC went on a 6-2 run to start the second quarter. However, they were missing too many shots at the rim. They were getting to the rack with ease but couldn’t finish allowing Center Grove to hang around. Jackson-Davis just kept doing whatever he wanted to do in the paint. He was definitely carrying the load as the Trojans closed the gap 30-24 at the break.

Once again Warren started the third quarter on another 6-0 run. Those spurts created all types of problems for the Trojans. By the time I bit into my hot dog Dub-C was up 36-24 looking to put CG away. In a matter of minutes Dub-C led by Jesse Bingham’s 22 points followed by Jakobie Robinson’s 14 and David Bell’s 12 had sprinted past the Trojans.

Everything started to fall for Warren including a three pointer that Manny Brown pulled up from 21st and Post at the buzzer to make it 43-28 after three quarters.

The smothering defense of Warren Central was simply too much for Center Grove but give TJD his props he balled out and gained some crazy respect from the crowd on the FAR EAST SIDE. They were in the building hollering “OVERRATED” but that was all in the fun of the game. When a boy drops 31 and 15 on the road he’s definitely not overrated. Stop me when I start lyin’!
