Unfortunately, Mr Goodell you’re too late. The NFL will ALWAYS be remembered as the league that dropped the ball. “They Really Don’t Care”

The NFL continues to show America how hypocritical it really is. Four years after Colin Kaepernick was blackballed and shun from the National Football League for peacefully protesting police brutality, racial and social injustice. Roger Goodell tweets a ridiculous and insulting statement on behave of the NFL acting like they really care about what’s happening in America.

On Saturday he had the audacity to write, “The NFL family is greatly saddened by the tragic events across our country. The protesters’ reactions to these incidents reflect the pain, anger and frustration that so many of us feel.”

And goes on to say, “As current events dramatically underscore, there remains much more to do as a country and as a league. These tragedies inform the NFL’s commitment and our ongoing efforts. There remains an urgent need for action. We recognize the power of our platform in communities and as part of the fabric of American society.”

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! When Kaepernick tried to exercise his First Amendment right to peaceably protest he was blackballed by the very league that’s trying to save face today in the wake of chaos.

The 32 billionaire owners didn’t want to deal with the issue of racism in America so they threw the young black man away. Figuring he would just go away never to be heard from again. Unfortunately, racism wouldn’t allow him to go away peacefully. Racism just keeps knocking on the doors of black people all over this country.

It continues to run across our lawn, breaking into our houses holding us hostage and even killing us when we’re simply watching television.

It pulls us over, harasses us, falsely accuses us, shoots us multiple times and kills us for reaching for our wallets and even chokes some of us death even when we’re already handcuffed.

You couldn’t throw Kaepernick away because he’s every black person in America that feels the oppression of overt and institutional racism. As long as this disease is allowed to run rampant across this country and the system of oppression still exists. You can’t send out a statement to make it look like you care now that the walls are starting closing in on you.

When the man tried to tell you and America how black folks felt you dismissed him. You threw him out of your league but now you want to sympathize with his cause during this time of crisis because you at least want to look like you’re on the right side of history.

You don’t want to be remembered as the idiot that blackballed a man for standing up against the very thing that is destroying this country.

Unfortunately, Mr Goodell you’re too late. You will ALWAYS be remembered as the league that uses the talents of black men but don’t really care about the people that they truly are. You don’t really care about how America treats them and their families once they take off the uniforms that make the NFL the biggest sport in the country. You don’t really care about them, You only REALLY care about the bread and that statement was an attempt to hold on to some of it. Stop me when I start lyin’!
