There’s a slogan that’s used in the state of Indiana that everybody that lives here understands very well. It’s repeated so often that you hear it in your sleep. It’s become the fabric of our lives around here. It’s, “We Grow Basketball Here!” As a matter of fact, the Indiana Pacers came up with it. This is the Mecca of high school basketball and it only makes sense that one of our own is represented on the McDonald’s All-American team. Join me in giving a big shout to the lil’/big homie Trayce Jackson-Davis from Center Grove for reppin’ the Hoosier state in the game that will be played in Atlanta at State Farm Arena on March 27.

Jackson-Davis, who is headed to Indiana next year to play for Archie Miller, becomes the 49th McDonald’s All-American from the Hoosier state to rep on the biggest stage in high school basketball. Bruh…do you realize that this is the 9th consecutive year that at least one player from Indiana has been named a McDonald’s All-American? That’s NUTS!!!

Let’s go backwards just to remind you of the past 9 years. Romeo Langford (2018), Jaren Jackson Jr. (2017), Kyle Guy (2016), Caleb Swanigan (2015), James Blackman Jr. and Tre Lyles (2014), Demetrius Jackson (2013), Yogi Ferrell and Gary Harris (2012), Marquis Teague, Branden Dawson and Cody Zeller (2011) and DeShawn Thomas (2010).

Straight ballers coming out of here bruh!!! Check out some older heads and then some real old heads. There’s cats like Mike Conley, Glenn “Big Dog” Robinson, Zack Randolph, Jay Edwards, Eric Gordon, Josh McRoberts, Shawn Kemp and Damien Bailey just to name a few. Trayce’s name will forever be in the annals of greatness in this state and that’s a really cool thought.

The 6’9″ do it all player has made us all very proud of him. It’s been fun watching his development and now he’s gotten to the mountain top of high school hoops. He will forever be known as a McDonald’s All-American. Well done my brother!!!
