Well playas…the game has OFFICIALLY been changed! The No.1 high school basketball player, Jalen Green, on ESPN’s 2020 Top 100 list has decided to bypass college and sign a contract to play in the reshaped NBA professional pathway program as part of the G League.

Ole boy will make $500K for the season, he’ll play in the league before entering the NBA Draft in 2021 where he’s already projected to be a Top 3 pick. Well playas…gone are the days when the NCAA can pimp the top tier prospects because they can now get paid while preparing for the NBA Draft in the U.S.

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! Once the NBA took it’s head out of it’s butt and realized that these kids have real options they finally did something about it. They’ve made life easy for themselves by giving them an option to play at home and it’s easier to scout them if they are in the U.S. playing.

Brandon Jennings, years ago, went overseas to play instead of going to college. I thought that the game was changing then but boyz weren’t feeling going that far away from home for a season fresh out of high school. So many of them continued to get pimped by the NCAA for a season.

Now cats are literally using their leverage to their advantage. We just saw LaMelo Ball and RJ Hampton take off and go to Australia to play in the NBA league over there this past year. Now they’ll both be top draft picks after making a small fortune for a season without having to go to anybody’s college.

Now the NBA is offering G League contracts to the best of the best worth $500K to stay in the U.S. and play? Oh it’s a wrap!!! Any player that is “One and Done” status would be crazy to enroll in college now. Why go to places like Duke, North Carolina, Kansas or Kentucky or anywhere else for that matter and get pimped when boyz can get $500K playing the same game without having to go to class?

What’s crazy to me is the amount of duns complaining that these kids are ruining college basketball. They don’t care nothing about college basketball! That’s why they’re going to the pros!!! A pro is supposed to get paid for playing the game. A college athlete is supposed to go to class, stay eligible to play so that he can graduate. If he doesn’t finish school he’s been pimped and that’s his fault.

So the key is to pimp them before they pimp you. Some kids are meant to be student-athletes and some are meant to be professional athletes and it’s determined by their DNA. There’s an old colloquialism that says, “You don’t choose the sport the sports chooses you.” Stop me when I start lyin’!
