The NBA is seriously considering and are in talks about resuming its season at Disney’s ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando Florida, in late July according to NBA spokesman Mike Bass on Saturday.
He went on to say, “The NBA, in conjunction with the National Basketball Players Association, is engaged in exploratory conversations with The Walt Disney Company about restarting the 2019-20 NBA season in late July at Disney’s ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Florida as a single site for an NBA campus for games, practices and housing. Our priority continues to be the health and safety of all involved, and we are working with public health experts and government officials on a comprehensive set of guidelines to ensure that appropriate medical protocols and protections are in place.”
The NBA suspended the season back on March 11 due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Now they’re trying to figure out if it makes sense to bring the entire league back or just the top 16 teams to roll right into a playoff situation.
Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! What’s the point in bringing everybody back? Teams that are out of playoff contention need not apply. That would be a complete waste of time and money fooling around with teams that haven’t already reached the 8th seed. It’s too late to give a boy a shot at making the playoffs. Time is of the essence. The more teams you’ve got to fool with the longer the process and that dips into next season’s calendar.
The NBA has already lost a fortune as has every other company in America. Why waste time and money on non-playoff teams? At this point the league is looking into having all of the teams living and practicing at Disney. Do you know how expensive that foolishness is going to be?
We’re talking housing, security, daily testing of all personnel etc. without the fans. So they’re not making a dime off of ticket sales or concessions. Of course they’ll make good money on TV revenue because that’s the only option fans will have. However, the less money the league has to spend the better.
I say tell the duns seeded 9th or worse that it’s been real but we’ll holler back next season. Go fishing NOW. Stop me when I start lyin’!
