The College Football Playoff is set and it won’t be as simple as boyz think! “Upsets”

The four quarterbacks in the College Football Playoff left to right; Alabama's Tua Tagovailoa, Oklahoma's Kyler Murray, Clemson's Trevor Lawrence and Notre Dame's Ian Book.

Now that the season is over and all of the conference championships have been decided the College Football Playoff Committee has made the right choice in who deserves to participate in the Playoff. Obviously after Alabama took care of business in the SEC title game against Georgia they’re No.1. Clemson blasted Pitt in the ACC so they’re No.2. Notre Dame was a lock because they finished they’re season a week ago undefeated at 12-0. Then the Oklahoma Sooners got revenge on Texas by winning the Big 12 so they landed in the No.4 spot.

So it’s set playas!! No.1 Bama vs. No.4 OU in the Orange Bowl on December 29 and No.2 Clemson vs. No.3 Notre Dame in Arlington at AT&T Stadium at the Cotton Bowl on the same date. Like I always say, ‘It’s Chris Brown up in this piece “On and Poppin’!”‘

For some strange reason duns down in Georgia, especially Kirby Smart, had the audacity to think that they should have gotten in over both OU and Ohio State when they’ve got two losses and didn’t win their conference title. What is he smoking? Boyz kill me always saying that we want the four best teams in the playoff acting like the wins and the losses aren’t supposed to somehow count.

Georgia loss bruh and loss twice!! In my Bill Parcells voice, “You are what you’re record says you are!” Stop with this foolishness.

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! Both Oklahoma and Notre Dame are double digit underdogs going into these semifinals. Bama is a 14 point favorite over the Sooners and Clemson is an 11.5 point favorite over the Irish at the SuperBook at Westgate in Las Vegas. According to ESPN’s stats and information teams that have been double digit favorites have won 88.2 percent of the semifinals and finals. Now keep in mind that this is only the fifth year of the College Football Playoff’s existence so there isn’t a ton of data.

As much as the SuperBook is spot on I’m not going to ride with them on either of these games. The last three times the Sooners have played Alabama they’ve beaten them including when they were 17-point underdogs in the Sugar Bowl in 2014 when they rocked Bama 45-31.

Oklahoma’s defense is about as trash as you can get being ranked 111th in the country. So they can’t stop a nose bleed. However, they’ve got the most prolific offense in the America. Bama can certainly score points because they’ve got weapons all over the field. So on some real talk, this is going to be a Big 12 shoot out which is what OU plays every week.

Bama isn’t accustomed to playing at that pace which is the reason why they’ve had trouble matching up with OU teams in the past. They aren’t built to play at that pace and it becomes a problem to them down the stretch.

In the Cotton Bowl I believe far too many people have been discounting the athleticism of Notre Dame. The Fightin’ Irish are not the same team they were in 2012. This group is very athletic at the skill position and they’ve got a real deal quarterback this time around in Ian Book. They’ve got huge wide receivers and a running back that is as fast as, like the old timers used to say, “Greased lightening.”

What am I saying here? I’m saying that it won’t be as easy as most folks think for both Alabama and Clemson to get back to the Championship game. The Orange Bowl will come down to who has the ball last and because OU has Bama’s number I’m riding with the Sooners in that one. In the Cotton Bowl I’m gong with Notre Dame to upset the Tigers and prove that they are better than the world thinks that they are. So it’s Oklahoma vs. Notre Dame for all of the marbles on January 7th at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

What I’m most excited about seeing is the quarterback play for all the of the teams. We haven’t seen a collection of quarterbacks this good in the Playoff yet. Both of Alabama’s quarterbacks are NUTS!!! They’ve got Tua Tagovailoa and if he goes down they’ve still got Jalen Hurts. Oklahoma’s Kyler Murray is ridiculous, Clemson’s true freshman Trevor Lawrence is sick and Notre Dame’s Ian Book is mind blowing. I know one thing, it should be fun to watch and stop me when I start lyin’!
