Detroit, MI–The Purdue Boilermakers (30-6) survived and advanced on Sunday after beatin’ the Butler Bulldogs 76-73 without Isaac Haas. The 7’2″ center’s season came to an end on Friday when he broke his elbow durin’ a hard fall against Cal State Fullerton.

The Boilermakers regrouped and kept it movin’ gettin’ past the school that’s only an hour away in Indianapolis. Vincent Edwards led the kids from West Lafayette with 20 points as P.J. Thompson hit them off with 14. Carsen Edwards dropped off 13 just to keep everyone honest. Haas’ replacement, Matt Haarms, finished with 7 on the day.

It’s been a great season for the Boilermakers but you know the drill. It’s the NCAA Tournament and boyz were sittin’ in the cut waitin’ for them to wet the bed. Why? Because that’s Purdue’s modus operandi durin’ the NCAA Tournament.

When Haas went down on Friday everybody and their baby’s momma thought that Butler would sneak up on them and take their sneakers and jewelry. However, they were able to hold their own and advance to the Sweet 16.

Now don’t get it twisted, Butler fought the good fight with Kelan Martin leadin’ the Bulldogs with 29 points. Lamar Baldwin had 14 as the Dogs went down swingin’.

Major move for Matt Painter’s squad. Now they’ve got a week to prepare for Texas Tech. It should be fun to watch.

The G is excluded from the endings of all words because the G is near and dear to my heart because I’m from “The G” which is Gary, Indiana. So I only use the G when I’m talkin’ about “The G!”
