Comin’ off of the All-Star break can always be a little tricky because it can either be a smooth transition or a bumpy one tryin’ to get back on the horse. Well playas…the Indiana Pacers jumped on the horse and rode it like they were in the Kentucky Derby beatin’ the brakes off of the ole dull Atlanta Hawks 116-93.

Thaddeus Young led the Pacers (34-25) with 20 points scorin’ 16 in the first half and 10 in the openin’ quarter. They never trailed in this one and rightfully so because they were playin’ the worst team in the league. Atlanta is a terrible 18-42. On the other hand, the Pacers are 15-6 since January 6th and that’s the best winnin’ percentage (.714) in the league durin’ that time period. With this win they’ve won four in a row and the Hawks have dropped their third consecutive game.

Glenn Robinson III made his season debut playin’ 19 minutes finishin’ with 4 points. However, he had plenty of help from his teammates as six Pacers finished in double figures. Along with Young’s 20 points, Corey Joseph knocked down 15 while Victor Oladipo dropped off 14 points and 9 rebounds. Lance The Don Dada came through with 13 as Bojan Bogdanovic came out of the back seat with 12. Did I mention that Domantas Sabonis dropped off 21 points and 13 rebounds on his way to Big Momma’s house? Well I just did.

Head coach Nate McMillan’s goal is to reach 25 assists per night. Well tonight, his team finished with 30 and they destroyed the Hawks on the glass pullin’ down 57 vs 40.

For a team that nobody thought would be very good this year they sure are playin’ well. If the playoffs started today they would be a fifth seed. That’s pretty darn good considerin’ they started the season with 9 new faces. Salute to Nate and the front office for makin’ it fun to watch this year. Stop me when I start lyin’!

Playas Thesaurus:

1) Dull: adjective – to describe something as bein’ terrible, something that makes you sick with disgust because it’s so stupid to even think of.

The G is excluded from the endings of all words because the G is near and dear to my heart because I’m from “The G” which is Gary, Indiana. So I only use the G when I’m talkin’ about “The G!”

  1. D Sabonis had 21 pts 13 reb. Seems like he should get some mention even if he “came out of the back seat”. Heard your voice in the post game TV interview and your good questions helped us understand coach’s offensive structure better.
