Major shout goes to Iowa State’s Matt Campbell for bringing the Cyclones’ program out of the ashes with a huge home win over No.18 Oklahoma on Saturday night. They pulled off the upset 37-30 beating the Sooners at home for the first time since 1960. They had a 24-game home losing streak to the Sooners.
For the second year in a row they’ve given Oklahoma problems. They ran up to Norman last season and took the Sooners to the wire losing a battle 42-41 and this year they closed the deal.
Do we really give Iowa State props or do we tell like it “sho-nuff T.I. is” like Big Momma used to say. Oklahoma is no where near the program is used to be right now.
Losing to duns like Iowa State is a disgrace to the program. They loss to Kansas State not only last week but last season too. Kansas State came to Normal and beat them after putting that thang on them in Manhattan last season. Let me be as clear as Vodka on this! They loss to Kansas State two years in a row. In my Vince Lombardi voice, “What the hell is going on out here!”
This is supposed to be Oklahoma football!!! Yes, I know that they’ve won 5 straight Big 12 Championships but they look a hot mess in the process and now they’re playing with subpar talent on the field. Iowa State and Kansas State even look like they’ve got better players.
And who on earth is the coordinating the defense? Michey Mouse or Donald Duck? There is excessively poor tackling and the defensive backs can’t cover with Big Momma’s blanket. They’re either getting beat or holding to keep from getting beat.
I say, cancel the rest of the season and just hold practices doing nothing but tackling and covering drills for the rest of the year. This is ridiculous!! Losing to Kansas State and Iowa State in back to back games? Losing to those programs period is ridiculous in and of itself.
Against programs like that the Sooners are supposed to be able to just show up and win because they’ve traditionally had better talent. PeriodT!!
Now those programs are showing up with just as much talent and in some cases better talent. And they’re talking trash to boyz in the process! Who let that happen?
With all of the tradition that OU has and with all of the selling points the program has they can’t get better talent than Kansas State and Iowa State? Are you kidding me?
For years the Sooner defense has been horrendous but the last two weeks have been the worst I’ve ever seen and I’ve been watching them since 1973. Somebody needs to do their freakin’ jobs. That program is too rich in tradition to look as bad as it’s looked in the past 14 days. Stop me when I start lyin’!
