SOUTHPORT — Everybody and their Uncle LeRoy and Cousin Man-Man showed up to see the Marion County Tournament Championship!! No.1 Warren Central came rolling in the same Big Body Chevy they can’t lose in dragging a 45 game winning streak behind them. Lawrence Central wasn’t intimidated at all as they pulled up in in the funky ’79 Impala sittin’ on them thangs, some old school Daytons. By time the smoke cleared Warren Central was gettin’ back in the Chevy with a 60-56 win to capture the Marion County Championship and adding to their win streak to make it 46 straight.
Now don’t get it twisted playboy, Lawrence Central jumped out of the whip and went on a 13-3 run on a boy. Nigel Pack came out of the driver’s side hittin’ duns in the head from everywhere on the floor. He was taking boyz to the rack, pullin’ up the mid-range jumper and burying the three all night as he led the Bears and all scorers with 19 points.
Warren Central took the body blows and finally settled down as David Bell got off two quick jumpers to get the Warriors back into it. Malik Stanley knocked down a deadly three to bring Warren to within 3 to make it 13-10. At the end of first quarter Lawrence Central was still on top 15-10.
It wasn’t until the 3:23 mark of the second quarter that the boyz from the FAR EAST SIDE even tied the joint up at 17-17 off of a Manny Brown “get to the bucket power move.” However, LC kept a boy at a Heisman Trophy stiff arm distance as they went into the break up 25-20.
Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! There is a reason why these cats from the FAR EAST SIDE have won 45 straight bruh!!! They don’t panic at any point in the ball game. They came out of the break and went on a 5-0 run just to let LC know who they were wrestling with. Oh, but Warren needed to know who they were wrestling with too.
Nigel Pack switched seats on a boy and came out of the passenger seat on them in the second half shootin’ that thang again!!! He was darn near unconscious out there bruh!!! After knocking down two three-pointers in a row. Warren Central called a timeout and put the best athlete known to man on him, The Incomparable David Bell, on him to at least slow him down because he was doing crazy work!!!
At the end of the third quarter Lawrence Central was holding onto the the knot at the end of the rope only up 42-39. Everybody and their baby’s momma knew that if Warren Central could keep it close down the stretch that they had the wherewithal to win it because, well, they’ve won 45 straight.
At the 4:40 mark Isiah Moore knocked down the three to tie the ball game at 44-44. It wasn’t until the 2:53 mark of the fourth quarter that Warren Central took it’s first lead of the game off of an Isiah Moore free throw. Ole boy led the Warriors with 16 points as both Jesse Bingham and David Bell dropped off 12 each.
Both WC and LC traded baskets for a minute and then the homie Manny Brown attacked the rack to put the Warriors up 58-54 with 1:26 left on the clock.
Lawrence Central’s Xavier DelReal got to the free throw line and missed the front end of a 1and 1 as Wesley Jordan tips it in to make it 58-56 Warren. On the very next inbound play the best athlete known to man, David Bell, trips and loses the ball out of bounds with 8.2 seconds left. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!
LC gets another crack at knocking off the cats in the Big Body Chevy. So everybody in the building knew who was going to take the shot. As a matter of fact, the dun walking down Banta Road knew who was taking that shot. Nigel Pack got the rock and got a great look at the basket, squared up and let it go. It went into the rim and rolled/spinned right out. INCREDIBLE!!!!
Malik Stanley gets fouled in the frenzy for the rock, steps to the foul line and knocks the free throws down like a G to make it 60-56. Ball Game!! “Won’t Fold!” is more than a slogan bruh! It’s a lifestyle.
THEE best game I’ve seen all season and guess what playas? They get to do it all over again on Friday!! Take your heart meds ole playas because it’s going to be epic. Stop me when I start lyin’!
