No.1 Warren Central becomes way too much for No.4 Carmel down the stretch! “DubZilla Eats AGAIN!!”

It's going to be a battle down at Lucas Oil Stadium on Friday! No.2 Carmel vs. No.1 Warren Central! Photo: TheJayGravesReport

THE FAR EAST SIDE — No.1 Warren Central better known this year as DubZilla because of the three headed monster that  continues to eat all opponents. They took the very best shot of anybody that’s lined up in front of them this season as No.4 Carmel rolled into the place with crazy confidence and swag. I’ve nicknamed their defense The BEAST because they bring 8 to 9 hats to the party on every play.

Well playas…DubZilla finally wore them down in the fourth quarter and was able to walk out of the joint with a 41-17 win, the M.I.C. Championship in hand and a perfect 8-0.

Now don’t get it twisted, it was a helluva game for 3 quarters!! With literally 3:42 left in the third quarter Carmel’s Zach White scored on a 2-yard run to make it 24-17 DubZilla. It was just that close of a game until the wheels came off for the Greyhounds. These two teams had literally played three quarters without a single turnover.

I kept saying that the turnover was coming because in a game like that it would be impossible for it not to happen and when it came it would be the back breaker. Well playas…as soon as the fourth quarter started with Warren only up 7 points Christian Hastings got a pick off of a tipped ball that turned into a Jason Ramirez 22-yard field goal to make it 27-17.

Then before a boy could bite into his hot dog good Calum Carruthers came up with two picks that turned into an Incomparable David Bell 16-yard touchdown pass from Jayden George “The Incredible” and a 12-yard touchdown run from “Secretariat from THE FAR EAST SIDE” better known as Romeir Elliott.

When you put food in front of DubZilla he’s got no other choice but to eat. Romeir Elliott finished the night with 174 yards on 24 carries and 2 touchdowns as David Bell hit ‘um up for 9 catches for 134 yards and three touchdowns. Jayden George did what he always does. He put up incredible numbers!! Ole boy finished 15-of-26 for 223 yards and three touchdowns.

DubZilla has an appetite that can’t be satisfied with anything but a Class 6A State Championship playa and anybody standing in the way of that will have some serious problem to deal with.

Again, don’t discount Carmel’s effort. They played their hearts out and that defense, like I told you last week, is as good as advertised. They kept Warren from exploding for three quarters. That’s a win in and of itself.  During the first half the No.1 team in the state that was averaging 54 points per game was held to only four possessions. Carmel had them playing the game they wanted to play.

However, as Warren began to chip away at them later in the game Carmel had to start taking chances that they wouldn’t normally take and that was the ball game. D-Zilla was sitting in the cut waiting for the mistakes and it cost Carmel down the stretch.

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! These two teams, in my opinion, will be playing for the Class 6A State Title in November. Book it and stop me when I start lyin’!
