Love is the REAL reason why Warren Central continues to shine nationwide! “Top 10”

The FAR EAST SIDE Stand up! Congratulations Warren Central for holding the state of Indiana down on the Top 10 list since 2003. Photo: TheJayGravesReport

FAR EAST SIDE OF INDIANAPOLIS, IN. — For years when people talked about high school football in America they named five states; Pennsylvania, Ohio, Florida, Texas and California. Those were the only places that were taken seriously. If you even bothered to consider kids ballin’ from anywhere else it was considered blasphemy.

Well playas…times have changed with the invention of the internet and social media and now the world has gotten smaller and the eyeballs have gotten bigger and better. On Friday MaxPreps released their Top 10 high school football programs since 2003 and guess who was representin’? The homies from the Far East East, The Warren Central Warriors!

They were ranked 9th on the list but who cares playa? They were on the list!!! It kills me when I hear these college coaches from the south telling boyz around here that they don’t recruit up this way because they aren’t playin’ any ball in the midwest. However, there’s not a single high school on the list from the deep south or SEC country, if you will.

Don’t try to claim Texas playboy because that’s the old Southwest Conference and now Big 12 Country. Texas A&M just slid over there and they’re not a factor in the SEC at all. Stop it! The list is littered with Texas teams which is the mecca of high school football primarily because they’ve got more players because it’s the biggest state in the country and football is king. So I’ve got nothing but respect for them.  I know because I’m a native Texan born in the west Texas town of Lubbock but I represent The G, Gary, Indiana because it made me. Cali and Ohio have always represented but don’t act like they aren’t playing ball in other states. That’s simply crazy. At least now they know Indiana has some cats that are ballin’ too.

Think about this, Warren Central made the cut of teams and they went back to 2003!!! That’s good stuff right there! The Dub C is on the Far East Side of town where boyz all over this state try to look down their noses at them and they just keep rising from the ashes on them.

They already taught the state how to hoop last basketball season in both boys and girls basketball winning both Class 6A state titles. Now they’re starting the football season on the Max Preps Top 10 list since 2003? That’s a boost of confidence that’s always appreciated and needed.

What I’m so impressed with at Warren Central is the amount of love that the teachers, administrators and coaches have for the kids over there. I visit schools all over the state covering games and it’s the one that stands out for loving their kids and really going above and beyond the call of duty in doing so. I’m not saying that the others schools don’t love their kids because some of them do. What I am saying is that you can see it getting out of the car at Warren Central. They do a great job of empowering their kids to be great and to take pride in who they are and where they come from. It reminds me of the growing up in Gary going to Roosevelt High School off of 2-5. They LOVED us and we loved them so much that we won everything because it meant that much to us.

Now don’t get mad at me for calling it like I see it. If you want me to say your school goes above and beyond the call of duty then show it.

I just believe that most schools have crazy talent and I don’t believe that one has much more than the other. It’s a matter of what you end up doing with the talent on a regular basis. Sure, every now and then you’re going to run across teams that have horses from top to bottom like Ben Davis had in 2017. However, that was more of an anomaly than the norm. They had 53 seniors bruh and were loaded at every position. It was a runaway train.

Most years the talent level team wide is about the same at the big schools around the state and especially in the Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference better known as the M.I.C. I seriously believe that it comes down to how much you can get these kids to believe in themselves and trust the adults that are working with them. LOVE!!!

Over the years the staff at Warren Central has done a great job of nurturing that process and it shows on the field year in and year out. Salute for holding the state of Indiana down on the Top 10 list of high school football programs since 2003. That’s major and you should be applauded for your efforts. Stop me when I start lyin’!

Playas Thesaurus:

1) Dun: noun – the person in question, dude, guy, etc. It’s whoever I’m talkin’ about and its non-gender specific.

2) Ole boy: noun – the person that I’m currently talkin’ about.

The G is excluded from the endings of all words because the G is near and dear to my heart because I’m from “The G” which is Gary, Indiana. So I only use the G when I’m talkin’ about “The G!”

The caption under the photo isn’t real but its real talk!

  1. So true about Warren. My husband went to Warren, class of ’87, played football at Warren, has coached and still coaches all our sons, thru the Warren football program, been a varsity coach at Warren for LB’s and K,P,LS for going on 9 years. I feel like I have 100 sons vs 3, and I love them all!! We teach them both football skill and life skills.I feel a huge responsibility to support and love these kids so they see what their potential is no matter what there circumstances. Proud to be a Warrior. #Warriorfamy #Warriorstrong ,#Warriorforlife
