CLEVELAND, OH. — Unless you’ve been under a rock for the past 16 hours you’ve heard that LeBron has declined his player option with the Cavs and is now an unrestricted free agent. Ole boy literally left $35.6 million on the table to check his options around the league. He had until 11:59pm on Friday to let Cleveland know what he was doin’ before the option expired.
Now don’t get it twisted, there’s still the slight chance that he’ll re-sign with the Cavs but you’ve got to be darn near crazy to believe that he will. He’s LeBron James bruh! He’s got the league by the gonads and could literally do whatever he wants to do. There’s the possibility of him landin’ in LA with the Lakers, runnin’ down to Houston with the Rockets or even goin’ over to Philly to play with the Young Thunder Cats.
Whatever he decides to do would be cool as long as he’s in the NBA. Ole boy’s the best player walkin’ and duns just want to see him play.
Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! He’d be out of his mind to re-sign with Cleveland. I’d let Dan Gilbert and Co. sink without the band playin’. Shoot a hole in all the life rafts and rescue boats and let that joint go down quickly. Gilbert got way too cocky for a dun that just got lucky enough to own a franchise that was simply terrible enough to get the first overall pick in the draft in 2003 that was born 30 minutes away.
Had LeBron been from anywhere else in the world they would have only gotten a rookie contract out of him and he would have been in the wind. He did the city a solid by comin’ back in 2014 and leadin’ them to an NBA title in 2016 that they’ll have to cherish for the rest of their lives unless another all-time great is born in the area.
So now it’s time to sit in the cut and wait to see how the LeBron domino will fall that will shake up the rest of free agency. In my Terrell Owens voice, “Get Ya Popcorn Ready!” Stop me when I start lyin’!
