INDIANAPOLIS — Everybody and their baby’s momma have been waiting for the college basketball season to officially tip off! Well playas…it tipped off and ran down the streets of Indianapolis on Tuesday night!!! Game 1 featured the Kansas Jayhawks and the Michigan State Spartans. The excitement in the air was NUTS however excitement doesn’t get a chance to play the game. The Jayhawks took care of business winning the first contest 92-87.

Kansas pulled up like they owned the joint. They didn’t even park the ride. They just stopped, got out in the middle of the street, left the keys in it and dared a boy to touch it. They played crazy defense on Michigan State keeping them from shooting the rock effectively the entire first half as they shot it like some snipers on top of the Carter (New Jack City).

Michigan State shot a mere 34 percent from the field in the first half as Kansas shot it at a rip of 47 percent during the first half. The Jayhawks went into the break up 50-36.

Unfortunately, for the Spartans the Jayhawks were shooting into an ocean all night and finished shooting 45 percent from the field and 44 percent from behind the arc. Not only that, they were rippin’ boyz, out-hustling Michigan State and just plain beating them up and down the floor. Did I tell you that Udoka Azubuike gave them fits all night in the paint drawing fouls darn near every time he touched the ball? Well I just did.

What was so crazy was that Tom Izzo was about to blow a gasket because the refs were missing traveling calls etc. when he should have been going off on his players for not playing defense. Kansas’ Quentin Grimes had on the full clown suit complete with the water spitting flower on these boyz as he dropped off a cool 21 points as he shot 50 percent from the field and 60 percent from behind the arc. Devon Dotson jumped out of the ride with a solid 20 points as Dedric Lawson dropped off 16 on his way to Big Momma’s house.

Michigan State was led by Joshua Langford with 18 points followed by Kenny Goins with 17. Down the stretch the Spartans tired to go see the wizard, got some heart and pulled within three to make it 90-87 with a little over 2 minutes to play. However, Kansas was just too much for them keeping them at bay the rest of the way to finish them off 92-87 in a great tip off to the college basketball season. Up next Kentucky and Duke!!! Let’s GO!!
