You know it’s bad when Michael Jordan comes out of the wood work and we’re glad he’s standing in the gap for black America. I know that for years Mike has been silent on issues of race and politics but we’re happy that he not only put on the uniform but he scored 100 million points.
Mike and the Jordan Brand jumped out of the whip with $100 million to donate over the next 10 years to nationwide organizations “dedicated to ensuring racial equality, social justice and greater access to education.”
In a joint statement, Jordan and the Jordan Brand, which is a subsidiary of Nike said, “Until the ingrained racism that allows our country’s institutions to fail is completely eradicated, we will remain committed to protecting and improving the lives of Black people.”
What does that all mean? The Jordan Brand will increase its work in communities across the United States to provide access to education and opportunities for future generations, while also taking a more active role in supporting organizations that work to effect policy change in local government.
Can we say drop the MIC? Literally, I’ve got nothing else to say about Mike not stepping up and using his voice. He walked in butt naked with a Chinchilla and flip flops on and dropped off $100 million. Big bank takes all banks. Thanks bruh!!!
The American people need to see and hear from our most prominent black folks. They’ve got the platform and influence that will help us change America. There isn’t another black man more powerful and influential than Michael Jeffery Jordan globally. There isn’t. Mike made hoop a global game when the Dream Team led by Jordan took over the world like the Avengers.
I know that Barack Obama is the first black President and he has a ton of influence but Mike has the juice in urban, rural and suburban America. He’s Mike! The guy with the most pull of any athlete ever. We need his voice and we’ll sure take the bread that can help move initiatives along. Yes we need other celebrities and Obama as well but Mike is Mike. He’s like E.F. Hutton. People from all races will listen to him and he’s dropping bread to help.
I’ve blasted this cat for 36 years for not using his voice in the realm of race and politics but when a boy shows up with $100 million to help. I can’t say another word. He can retire from social life after that one. Thanks for being there with we needed you. We even got Tiger Woods to open his mouth. What!!?
America is moving into a new day because both white and black young people are standing together to make this country great for the first time in its history. God is good. Stop me when I start lyin’!
