It’s hypocritical for folks to tell Travis Scott and Big Boi not to perform at the Super Bowl! “Asinine”

They have the same right to get their bread as everybody else in Atlanta this week getting it.

ATLANTA — Now that we’re only days away from Super Bowl LIII (that’s the Roman numeral for 53 for all of you cats that want to act like you’ve never been taught that) it’s time to talk about the halftime show. Boyz have been running around here acting like their upset with Travis Scott and Big Boi for accepting the invitation to perform with Maroon 5 at the Super Bowl halftime show.

Most notably, Rihanna and Cardi B turned down the invitation to perform in a show of solidarity for Colin Kaepernick as we all know is involved in a high-profile collusion case against the league related to his protest of police brutality, racial and social injustice. Word is Pink even turned the NFL down too.

When they hollered at Travis Scott and Big Boi they weren’t turning their noses up. Now a lot of people are literally out here trippin’ because they believe that they should have lined up with the other artists and turned it down too.

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! I applaud Kaepernick for his sacrifice and ability to bring attention to the issue of police brutality, racial and social injustice. I applaud his willingness to step out in front on these issues to be an advocate for the voiceless. However, he didn’t turn down that Nike bread when they did a campaign on sacrificing everything. So why would you trip on Travis Scott and Big Boi for taking advantage of an opportunity to enhanse their careers and ultimately get bread. And yes, I know that they don’t get paid for performing at the Super Bowl but they get paid as a result of performing at the Super Bowl. The exposure is NUTS!!!

I’m still trying to figure out what Big Boi is doing. Maybe he’s working on something but whatever it is he’s got the right to get his bread too. Travis Scott is a relatively new artist and the Super Bowl is the biggest venue of the year. His career could literally explode after a hot performance. So I completely get why they both are willing to rock the mic.

Duns are sitting around trying to take Jay-Z’s lead listening to him say that he doesn’t need the NFL they need him but what they missed is that Jay is darn near a billionaire and he’s the G.O.A.T.  You can’t do what he does until you get to his status.

What’s blowing my mind are all of the cats that are upset because Travis and Big Boi are performing saying that they should have held Kaepernick down but they’ve been watching the NFL all season. Not to mention that they’re in town for the game this week to literally get it in.

So is it only necessary for artists NOT to take advantage of an opportunity to expand their careers and okay for you to carry on with business as usual? Y’all can get it in, party, kick it and watch the game but Travis Scott and Big Boi can’t take advantage of the fact that everybody’s gettin’ it in anyway.

What about all of the parties and concerts going on in the Atlanta area this week? So it’s okay for boyz to get their bread all week but Travis Scott and Big Boi can’t on Sunday? It’s okay for everybody else to blow up this week but not for those two. I’m just sayin’!

Again, I’m in complete support of Kaepernick bringing awareness to the issues of police brutality, racial and social injustice because it’s one of the most important issues we face as people of color in this country. However, to tell a boy not to get his bread when everyone else is participating in the NFL’s activities this week is asinine. Stop me when I start lyin’!
