It’s disrespectful to LeBron’s career to suggest that Dame will be a problem to the Lakers. “Reality Check”

It blows my mind when these media-types try to make a story when there isn’t one. Everybody and their baby’s momma, Uncle LeRoy and cousin Man-Man are seriously asking the question “Can the Trailblazers beat the Lakers in the first round?”

Now that Portland has actually won the play-in game against Memphis 126-122 to officially become the 8th seed in the West we can talk about it. They’ll now have to face LeBron and Co. in a seven game series.

First of all, there’s a reason why they’re barely in the freakin’ car. They finished with a record of 35-39! Let’s stop right there!! They’ve played the entire season and have only won 35 games. There is a reason for that. I don’t care how much noise Dame and CJ McCullom are talking right now. They are who they are, a 35 win team.

Don’t tell me that Dame is red hot right now averaging 37.6 points and 9.6 assists per game in the bubble. They came into the bubble with one foot into the playoffs and one foot out. Most teams had already locked in their playoff position by the time Portland showed up trying to prove that they were worthy of making the postseason. They actually didn’t prove it until Saturday when they beat ole dull Memphis.

So that scoring average in the bubble actually means nothing in the grand scheme of things.

Now, have the Lakers been playing their best basketball right now? NO!!! But they’re the No.1 seed in the West for a reason. Maybe because they’ve won 72 percent of their games (52-19) and went 36-10 in the West with the best player on the planet. The same player that has literally lived in the finals his entire career. In 16 previous seasons he’s been to 9 Finals. He was hurt last year and this postseason is about to jump off. So we’ll have to see what year 17 brings but it sure isn’t going to end losing to the 8th seed I can tell you that.

To even suggest such foolishness is disrespectful to his talent and his career. Not to mention the fact that he’s got Anthony Davis riding shotgun.

This isn’t the NCAA Tournament. It’s the NBA Playoffs playa!!! In order to advance you’ve got to win a best of seven series not show up and win one game. That’s the problem. Can Portland win a game or two? Sure they can but they can’t win four. So why are these media-types even giving it airtime? Because they need something to talk about because Dame is hot right now.

Well playas…being hot in games that meant absolutely nothing to most of the teams they were playing and being red hot in the playoffs are two different things. In my Huggy Low-Down voice, “Waaaait for it!” Stop me when I start lyin’!
