It’s a shame that Warren Central’s DubZilla wasn’t three of the four Mr. Football finalists! “Real Talk”

RIDICULOUS, IN. — The Indy Star presents the Mr. Football Award to the top senior high school football player in the state of Indiana annually. On Wednesday they announced the four finalists for the award. This is what they literally announced with a straight face. Now obviously the most talented football player/athlete in the state, The Incomparable David Bell, was on the list, which he should have. He’s the Mr. All Everything wide receiver from Warren Central. This kid can do it all and he literally needs no introduction. He’s an Army All-American. Enough said. Then the joint went completely off of the rails with good football players but nowhere near Mr. Football worthiness relative to the cats that were left off of on the list.

They’ve got Pioneer quarterback and linebacker Jack Kiser, Evansville Memorial quarterback Michael Lindauer and NorthWood receiver and safety Bronson Yoder.  All great players but how on earth do you chose the final four and not have the rest of DubZilla, Warren Central’s three headed monster, on the list? That would include Romeir Elliott better known as “Secretariat from THE FAR EAST SIDE” that finished with 302 carries for 2,980 yards and 40 rushing TD’s playing in the best conference in the state. That would also include his quarterback Jayden George “The Incredible” who threw for 3,005 yards and 41 touchdowns against the best defenses in the state in the M.I.C.!!!

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! If DubZilla  isn’t sitting there during the presentation of this award it’s highway robbery. On some real talk, Romeir Elliott should have hands down won the award and he’s not even on the list! Who’s watching the games and voting on this foolishness? What eyeballs are they using? He was the MOST OUTSTANDING PLAYER in the state all season.

There wasn’t a player breathing that had a better season than this kid. NOT A ONE!!! Don’t tell me about the numbers other cats put up because they didn’t put them up against the best competition. Not to mention that he put the team on his back during the Class 6A title game against Carmel because “The Incomparable” couldn’t go at full strength due to an ankle injury.

I know that they want to spread the love with having kids from all over the state but that’s why they have honorable mention awards. You can’t exclude the best of the best when it’s clear that they were. You’ve got three players playing on the same team that put up ridiculous numbers all season against the best competition in the state. Not only that, they played the entire playoff, including the state title game, against conference opponents that they’d already beaten.

So they had to go through the gauntlet twice still putting up crazy numbers and they aren’t three of the four finalists? You’ve got to be kidding me?  Stop me when I start lyin’!
