It doesn’t make sense for Kyler Murray to even consider playing in the NFL! “Easier Bags”

MIAMI — The Orange Bowl hadn’t been over 20 minutes and duns were asking Kyler Murray what his plans are for the future. Will this be the last time he puts on a helmet and shoulder pads or will he play baseball for the Oakland A’s? After his Sooners started slow and got down 28-0 against the juggernaut that is Alabama. Murray led Oklahoma on a comeback but obviously fell short 45-34.

Now everybody and their baby’s momma wants to know if he’s going to bypass the opportunity to play in the Major League to play in the NFL. Well…let’s step back and look at what you’re asking this young man just to see if it makes any sense. Sales 101 says, “Never ask a question where there is no answer.” It also says, “Don’t ask questions where there is an obvious answer to it.”  In other words, don’t waste folks time asking them dumb questions.

Kyler Murray was drafted with the ninth overall pick in the draft by the Oakland A’s last summer. The assigned value of the ninth pick was $4.7 million in which he signed but was still eligible to play for OU if he took the minimum of 12 credit hours which he did.

Ole boy balled out this year and won the Heisman Trophy, led the Sooners to the Big 12 Championship and to the College Football Playoff and loss. Now it’s over. Why? Because he’s a baseball player that happened to be really good as a football player but he’s not a football player at the next level. Well…he could play in the NFL but why?

He’s freakin’ listed at 5’11” on the roster which means that he’s really about 5’9″. So that means that he’s not playing quarterback in the NFL. He’s going to be a slot guy or a wide receiver and used from time to time as a wildcat type quarterback in certain situations or he’ll be returning kickoffs or punts. Nonetheless, he’s going to get hit quite a bit and why would he want to do that if he can make even more money playing baseball for a longer period of time without getting hit at all?

Again, it’s cool that folks are asking the question but it’s a stupid one to even ask. He’s got $4.7 million right now and he doesn’t have to get hit to make even more bread for the next 20 years or so. It’s a no brainer.

I know boyz have to have something to write about but write something that makes sense. Football was cool and he can eat off of that Heisman in Norman for the rest of his life but Kyler Murray is a baseball player playa. Thanks for the fun memories watching OU this year but get the easiest bag you can get and keep it movin’ my brother. Why tear up your body if you don’t have to? He’s got an option where most cats don’t. Stop me when I start lyin’!

  1. After finally playing a real defense last night, I would hope he doesn’t need any more convincing. He doesn’t want any part of that every Sunday.
