“IF” Romeo Langford decides NOT to go to IU y’all better show him the SAME respect! “Conditional Love”

All season long, all over the state, boyz have been fillin’ up arenas tryin’ to get a glimpse at the Romeo Langford Show. He’s been on tour and it’s been worth the price of admission. Everybody and their baby’s momma’s momma, Ms. Jackson, has been showin’ him crazy love includin’ these media-types and the duns over at the biggest newspaper in the state. Why? Because they’re hopin’ that he’s goin’ to pick Indiana as his school of choice.

Now if you can remember, I wrote a crazy Hot Joint back in December entitled “Avoidin’ the Foolishness” sayin’ that he’s probably NOT goin’ to IU because if he were he would have announced it already. Now I have no idea whether he’s goin’ or not but my hunch is that he’s NOT.

But lookin’ at the history of the Hoosiers NOT bein’ able to keep the best players in the state there’s always the possibility that he’ll choose either Vanderbilt or Kansas. Oh so you think that I’m just hatin’ on IU? Take a look at the history of the Hoosiers face plantin’ and losin’ out.

Here’s a list of players that grew up in the state and shot spit balls at IU, signed with other programs and went to the NBA: Rick Fox (UNC), Glenn Robinson (Purdue, POY), all three of the Plumlee brothers with Mason, Miles and Marshall (Duke). They missed on two of the Zeller brothers, Tyler and Luke (UNC and ND), Rodney Carney (Memphis), Josh McRoberts (Duke), Zach Randolph (Michigan State), Greg Odon (OSU) Mike Conley (OSU), George Hill (IUPUI), Shawn Kemp (UK, JUCO), Sean May (UNC), Jeff and Marquis Teague (Wake Forest and UK) Courtney Lee (Western Kentucky), Eric Montross (UNC), Luke Harongody (ND), Robbie Hummel, E’Twan Moore and JaJuan Johnson (Purdue), Gordon Hayward (Butler), Gary Harris (Michigan State) and Trey Lyles (Kentucky).

Now it doesn’t matter to me where he goes to school because it’s his choice. I’ve already got a degree from IU. However, folks have been pilin’ in these gyms rockin’ the Candy Stripes and singin’ the IU fight song. They’ve been standin’ in line for his autograph for hours at a time showin’ him crazy love and that’s fantastic!!!

But let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! IF the kid decides NOT to go to IU y’all better show him the same love you’ve been showin’ him when you thought that he was goin’ to be a Hoosier. Don’t turn on him and start callin’ him every name in the dirty book of hate that folks in Indiana have shown other kids when they’ve decided to leave the state to play.

We’ve seen it just recently with Gary Harris (Michigan State), Zak Irvin (Michigan), Trey Lyles (Kentucky) and just last year with Kris Wilkes when he told boyz that he was goin’ to UCLA. It got so bad that he had to take the Twitter app off of his phone. All because he decided NOT to go to IU? Complete and utter ignorance!!!

In my opinion, Romeo has been smart to not say a word until after the season is over so that he doesn’t have to worry about anything but basketball and not the ignorance of adults botherin’ him about where he’s decided to go to school.

Again, I have no idea where he’s goin’ but if he says that it’s NOT IU show he and his family the same respect. Don’t start harassin’ him on social media to the point where he has to take his Twitter app off. Don’t get on the radio show or your newspaper and start bad mouthin’ the kid because he wanted something other than what you wanted. It’s his decision not yours and you can stop me when I start lyin’!

1) Dun: noun – the person in question, dude, guy, etc. It’s whoever I’m talkin’ about and its non-gender specific.

2) Ms. Jackson: noun – song by rap group OutKast

The G is excluded from the endings of all words because the G is near and dear to my heart because I’m from “The G” which is Gary, Indiana. So I only use the G when I’m talkin’ about “The G!”
