Gettin’ amped up for the upcomin’ high school football season with TheJayGravesReport! “Get On Board Now”

INDIANAPOLIS, IN. While everybody and their baby’s momma across the country is sleeping on Indiana high school football. I’m standing at the edge of the pool ready to dive in head first!!! Last year was my first season covering high school football and by the time the season was over I was hooked.

I’ve been covering the Indiana Pacers and college sports since 2010 and even covered the Colts for a few seasons between 2010 and 2013 but I had more fun covering these high school kids than any pro or college sports. Don’t get it twisted, covering the Pacers and college football and basketball is a blast.

However, there’s something about covering high school sports that’s just unbelievable! The community just eats it up. My primary focus last year to get my feet wet was to holler at the Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference better known as the M.I.C. It’s by far the best conference in the state for both football and basketball. It’s a Top 15 conference in football in the country most years.

We just saw where MaxPreps named Warren Central it’s 9th ranked program in the country since 2003. So you already know the drill. This year I’ll be expanding my coverage to Avon because they’ve got the beast, Sampson James (Ohio State recruit) totting the rock over there. I’ll also be covering some Cathedral games because they’ve got talent running out of their noses every year and I completely missed on them last year with the studs they had.

Look out for the upcoming season previews on all of the teams in the M.I.C., Avon, Cathedral and a few more teams they are ready to get it in with TheJayGravesReport this season.

You’ll get the same flavor as last year with little more sauce on the side in 2018. Look for the “HILARIOUS Weekly Preview” every Wednesday night where I go in on the upcoming match ups of the week as I tease the coaches and mascots. It’s all about having fun and getting the fan bases fired up for a great Friday night of football. Here’s the Week 8 Preview from last year. Check it out.

Every Saturday morning on my podcast entitled “The Saturday Mornin’ Drive” I’ll recap the week in sports as well as the Friday night results from the area.

If you slept on TheJayGravesReport last year here’s your chance to get on board before the train starts moving too fast!!! I had too many cats pulling hamstrings trying to climb on aboard mid-season and it was moving way too fast for some folks.

I can’t wait to see stand out players such as Warren Central’s David Bell and Center Grove’s Carson Steele known in these M.I.C. football streets as “The War Horse!”

I’m getting goose bumps just thinking about how much fun it is to watch these kids play on Friday nights! So put your seat belts on and LET’S RIDE!!! And oh yeah, stop me when I start lyin’!

Note: I’ll have to warn all of you that aren’t familiar with TheJayGravesReport that I’ve got my own language. I’ll supply a Playas Thesaurus to walk you through the terminology in every article. When I get excited I just talk the way the fellas would in the barber shop or in the man cave watching the games! Sports is supposed to be fun so why shouldn’t the articles written about it not be just as fun?

Here’s an example of a few terms you need to learn before the season starts:

Playas Thesaurus:

1) Dun: noun – the person in question, dude, guy, etc. It’s whoever I’m talkin’ about and its non-gender specific.

2) Put it where the goats can get it: verb phrase – to make it as elementary as possible. To put it at ground level so everyone can understand it.

3) Ole boy: noun – the person that I’m currently talkin’ about.

4) Crib: noun – home

5) The G: noun – Gary, IN.

The G is excluded from the endings of all words because the G is near and dear to my heart because I’m from “The G” which is Gary, Indiana. So I only use the G when I’m talkin’ about “The G!”

The caption under the photo isn’t real but its real talk!
