SAN ANTONIO — Today is the culmination of events for a job well done for the lil’ homie David Bell. He will be playing in the Army All-American Bowl on NBC down in San Antonio today at 1pm and he’ll also be making his announcement as to where he’ll play his college ball. His top 5 schools in no particular order are Purdue, IU, Ohio State, Iowa and Penn State. It really doesn’t matter to me where the kid chooses to go to school as long as he’s going to school. That’s just real talk.
However, before we get to today’s events let’s talk about what all of this means not only to David but to all of the people that he represents.
We constantly hear people saying or writing “#JustAKid” or folks reppin’ from the “FAR EAST SIDE.” Sure, everybody understands that they’re reppin’ the east side of Indianapolis where other folks tend to look down their noses at boyz growing up in the hood. However, it’s bigger than that. David Bell is representing every kid from every hood in the state. He’s the embodiment of what working hard and using the natural gifts that God gives YOU to become the best that YOU can be.
Proverbs 18:16 says, “A man’s gift makes room for him And brings him before great men.” David Bell is living what the word promised right now and guess what? All of the lil’ homies coming up behind him get to see him represent not only the FAR EAST SIDE but the WORD that was promised to all of us.
“If David can use his gifts to do great things then so can I,” says the kid from ANY HOOD, USA or more specifically ANY HOOD, IN.. He’s an inspiration to not only all of the kids reppin’ the FAR EAST SIDE but kids reppin’ hoods all over the state. He’s everybody’s guy today because he’s from Indiana!!!
He’s one of THEE most accomplished student athletes in the history of Indiana high school sports. He’s a 4-Time Max Preps All-American, US Army All-American, Gatorade Player of the Year. He’s been an undefeated IHSAA State Champ in two sports; football & basketball in the same year!!! Not to mention the All-State honors etc.
Sure, we’ve seen cats become All-Americans and ball out in one sport but we’ve never seen a boy ball like that in two. He’s an All-State hooper!!! We’ve seen cats lead their teams to state titles but we’ve never seen them do it in two sports in the same year without losing a single game. Naw playa, David Bell is the G.O.A.T. when it comes to Indiana High School Sports. I’ve seen a lot of bad boys in my day but no one as accomplished or was more talented all the way around than David Bell.
Today he’ll be playing on national television against the best in the country. What an inspiration to all of the kids trying to live out their dreams coming from the state of Indiana but most importantly, the FAR EAST SIDE!!! #JustAKid Stop me when I start lyin’!
