College Football: Why teams shouldn’t be ranked until at least four games have been played! “A Straight Hustle”

After another wild Saturday of college football I’m sticking with the theory that I’ve always screamed. Don’t rank teams until we’ve seen at least four weeks of football! For years it was all about the magazines trying to sell copies so they’d put these bogus preseason rankings out to help them fly off the shelves. Even though nobody buys magazines anymore we’re still seeing these idiotic preseason rankings.

Four weeks later the Top 10 has been a shuffle board and teams that are really worthy of being in the Top 10 won’t ever get in because they started the season in the hole.

LSU started the season ranked No.4 and has loss two games in three tries!!! They got beat at Mizzou on Saturday after already losing to Miss State Week 1. How on earth we’re they the No.4 ranked team in America? Sure, they won the national title last year but they loss darn near the entire squad to the NFL draft. This is the foolishness that I’m talking about.

They’ve got new faces all over the field but because they won it all last year. They were put in a position to play for the title again this year until they completely wet the bed. That’s ridiculous!!

Oklahoma was another one that was ranked too high. They started the season No.7 because they were OU. Going into Saturday’s Red River Showdown they were 1-2 after losing two in a row!!! They got beat by Kansas State and Iowa State in consecutive weeks. Not only did they lose two in a row but they loss to Iowa State in Ames!!! They hadn’t loss up there since 1960!!! They beat Texas in 3 overtimes on Saturday but they looked like hot garbage in the process. Texas did everything imaginable to give the freakin’ game away and they still went to three overtimes to win it.

Florida started the season ranked No.9 and in just two weeks of games jumped all the way up to No.4 coming into Saturday’s matchup with Texas A&M. The Aggies got at them and now Dan Mullen wants to cancel the pandemic altogether and bring back 90 thousand fans to the Swamp next week. He blames the loss at A&M on them having too many fans. Whatever the case playboy, Florida shouldn’t be losing to Texas A&M if they’re legitimately ranked No.4. Stop it.

Ohio State (No.2), Oregon (No.6) and Penn State (No.8) were all in the Top 10 in the preseason rankings. After three weeks of NOT even playing, Ohio State had dropped to No.6, Penn State one spot to No.9 and Oregon has fallen out of the Top 10 altogether. It makes no sense!!!

What’s wrong with ranking teams after a month of games to see who’s really legit and who’s not? It’s not fair to the teams that start at No.25 that win every week. They can ball out but because they start so deep in the bushes they’ll never get into the Top 4.

Duns like Florida can drop one early and then run the table and never be threatened with not making the College Football Playoff. Stop ranking teams off of tradition and rank them off of wins and losses. PeriodT! Stop me when I start lyin’!
