Carson Steele is bigger, stronger and faster: The War Horse is back for more! “That’s a problem playa!”

Center Grove's Carson Steele, ran wild on Warren last season as a freshman. Now that he's a sophomore with crazy confidence. Can they slow him down tonight? Photo: TheJayGravesReport

GREENWOOD, IN. — Last football season as I was visiting all of the schools in the Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference better known as the M.I.C. to speak with the head coaches for my season previews. Every one of them talked about what they had and how they would eventually look in the upcoming season. Some of them said that they would have some young guys stepping up to fill huge roles.

When I sat down with Coach Moore over at Center Grove he mentioned that he was going to play a freshman at running back that was supposed to be pretty good. I took that to mean that he would be a normal 14 year old helping out in spot duty.

So fast forward a week after our interview. I showed up at Warren Central to cover the opening game of the season and all of a sudden this young freshman explodes out of the gate. Carson Steele, better known in these M.I.C. streets as the War Horse, ran all over the then No.3 team in the state. Ole boy hit them up for more than 133 yards in his very first high school game. It was NUTS!!!

He finished the season with 1,700 and 20 touchdowns averaging 150 yards per game in the best conference in the state!!! That’s why MaxPreps has him on their 2018 pre-season high school football sophomore All-American team. The 6’1″ 205 pound running back is all that and a bag of old school Funyuns with a side of frosted penny cookies and don’t forget the red pop. All of you young thunder cats can Google that. In other words, in my Muhammad Ali voice, “He’s a baaaaaad man!”

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! Boyz don’t really want to see the War Horse this year! They don’t!! They can say bring him on but that’s just talk. He ran all over EVERYBODY as a freshman. Ben Davis had the best team we’ve seen in decades outside of the Warren Central 2006 squad and he put up 75 yards on them in Week 4. He was just getting started. Had they ran into him in Week 9 he may have galloped for 150 too!!

He’s a year older! He’s bigger, stronger and faster! Warning: If you’re a defensive back just step out of his way and save yourself the trouble of an emergency room visit on a Friday night. Unless you plan on gang tackling this dun, get out of the way and let him run free.

So get your popcorn ready playas. No.30 is in the stable kicking already and as soon as they open the gates he’ll be off to the races! In my Bart Scott voice, “Can’t Wait!!!” Stop me when I start lyin’!

Playas Thesaurus:

1) Dun: noun – the person in question, dude, guy, etc. It’s whoever I’m talkin’ about and its non-gender specific.

2) Ole boy: noun – the person that I’m currently talkin’ about.

The caption under the photo is real talk today!
