WEST SIDE — The former Vanderbilt commit decided that going to Nashville wasn’t for him. So instead he chose Raleigh! The 5-foot-11 200 pound running back is on his way to the ACC to become a member of the Wolfpack. He also entertained offers from Louisville, Kentucky and Washington State among others.

The Ben Davis standout led the Giants his senior season rushing for 1,232 yards and 20 touchdowns. When asked what was it about NC State when speaking to reporters he had this to say, “Everything! From the academics, to the athletics to the people around there to the players. What excited me the most was the growth I can make there and the difference I can make there.”

He went on to say, “They really want to teach me more about the game and how to make the game slow down for you. I appreciate that and they want the most out of their guys. They’re people you want to be around.”

Mimms was as smooth as silk running the rock at Ben Davis and I’m quite sure that he’ll do well at NC State. He’s got great vision, can change directions and stop on a dime like he’s got hoofed feet. I can’t wait to see him playing in the ACC. Congrats my brother on a job well done. Now it’s time to grind!!! Stop me when I start lyin’!
