Boyz telling Zion Williamson to finish what he started aren’t going to pay him if he gets hurt! “Git Ya Money Mane”

Ever since Zion Williamson blew through his Nike PG’s on Wednesday night everybody and their baby’s momma, Aunt Betty and Cousin Jethro has had an opinion on what ole boy should do going forward, including me. Let me just say it again while standing on the roof butt naked foamin’ at the mouth. Zion should have packed up everything he wanted to take with him to the crib or wherever he’s headed to train for the upcoming NBA and gotten out of Durham on the first thing smoking Thursday morning.

Ain’t no way playa, if that were my child he’d be putting on another Duke jersey now that the reality of a serious injury has appeared in his mind. Yes, you’re always aware that something could happen but the reality of it happening never becomes real to you. Now there’s not going to be a time he’ll set foot on the court without worrying about getting hurt before he gets his bread.

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! On Wednesday Zion’s entire hoop dream flashed before his eyes in front of a national television audience and President Obama. The reality of the fact that he could have been seriously injured and ended his career playing for absolutely no money when everybody affiliated with the game got major bread before, during and after the game.

Duke got it’s bread right off of the top with it being a nationally televised game. They got there money off of the ticket sales, parking and the ancillary foolishness being sold with the kid’s likeness on it. In other words, his jersey being sold for top dollar in the bookstore. All of the duns that own bars or restaurants in the vicinity and even the cat posted up on the corner selling hot dogs on the cart got paid. Why? Because Zion Williamson is the attraction.

Do you know how much bread was spent just to accommodate the former president of the United States to even show up? They had to sweep the entire building and surrounding area just to make sure the place was safe enough for him to set foot in the joint. So again, EVERYBODY got paid but Zion.

Then what was so crazy was that duns like Stephen A. and several other cats saying, after seeing the reality of his future flashing before our eyes, that he should finish what he’s started. WHAT!!? If the kid runs out there and gets hurt before he literally gets the bag none of those cats are going to pay him the bread that he’s gambling with right now. Not one!!!

They’ll just find someone else to talk about on their shows and keep it moving. So why listen to what they’ve got to say about finishing what he started.

So if you’re not willing to pay him that type of bread then stop advising him to do something stupid like play anymore basketball without having his bread first.

Let me put it where the goats can get it. It’s time for these kids to start doing to college basketball and football what they’ve been doing to them for decades. It’s time for the players with all of the leverage to start taking advantage of the situation. Use the game to get where you want to go and if that means building up your resume/brand to the point of crazy hype and walking off of the court or field in the middle of the season then so be it.

In the words of Scottie Pippen, “I think he’s locked up the biggest shoe deal. I think he’s definitely going to be the number 1 pick. I think he’s done enough for college basketball that it’s more about him personally now. I think for him as a young player that I would shut it down.”

And I thought Scottie was out of his mind when he said it over a month ago but he was a genius for saying it when nobody else could see it. Hey Zion, in my DJay voice from Hustle and Flow, “Git Ya Money Mane!” Stop me when I start lyin’!

1) Dun: noun – the person in question, dude, guy, etc. It’s whoever I’m talkin’ about and its non-gender specific.

2) Put it where the goats can get it: verb phrase – to make it as elementary as possible. To put it at ground level so everyone can understand it
