I’ve been standing on the roof tops all season long telling boyz that Notre Dame deserves to be ranked No.1!! However, all I keep hearing from the talking heads on TV and radio is that Alabama’s No.1. Not because they deserve to be No.1 based on strength of schedule etc. but because they’re the best team in the country without them even playing a real football game. It was Week 10 before they actually line up and played a real football game against LSU. Now they beat the brakes off of them but that was the first game they’d played all season.
So they’re a shoe-in according to the experts and even with one loss boyz still have a dressing room reserved for them. After playing in the horrible SEC West against duns like Ole Miss, Miss State, Arkansas and Texas A&M. Not to mention Mizzou out of the East and adding Arkansas State and dull Louisville to the mix. They took a substantial smoke break in Week 5 when they played Louisiana Lafayette and then to make matters worse they played The Citadel on Saturday.
Not only did they play The Citadel but they were struggling with these cats for a half. It was knotted up at 10 apiece at the break bruh!!! Sure, they ended up beating the brakes off of them 50-17 but you can understand why boyz are looking at this situation sideways this morning.
Notre Dame just keeps on doing what they’ve been asked to do. They continue to win against a real schedule of teams and they’ve been consistent. They haven’t struggle with teams that they should blast and they’re beating the brakes off of good teams too.
So if Bama is such the great team that’s head and shoulders above everybody else. Then why are they struggling with Boo-Boo State at the crib for a half? This is the foolishness that I’m talking about. They can look terrible playing terrible teams and still be ranked No.1. They can lose in the SEC title game like they did last year and still get into the Playoff.
They’ll probably get beat in the SEC title game against Georgia, AGAIN, and still get a shot at the title. What’s the point of playing the games if they don’t count and why are we holding everybody else to a different standard than we hold Alabama to?
There were teams on Saturday playing for their Playoff lives and if they had loss they would have been eliminated from Playoff contention. One team in particular, Michigan, was on the ropes bleeding from the mouth against Indiana at one point. Had they loss, boyz would have been sending them to Big Momma’s for cornbread and beans for the rest of the year.
The experts have been sitting in the cut waiting on Notre Dame to fall all season. Just so they can eliminate them from contention altogether. Now do I think Alabama is the best team in the country? Sure I do. However, if they lose before they get to the Playoff they should be treated like everybody else because if the wins and the losses don’t count then why are we playing the freakin’ games? Stop me when I start lyin’!
