Adrian Peterson has run “All-Day” through his money! Darn near broke after making more than $100 million!

Years ago one of my homeboys, Royce Bradley, told me that “Life is a thinking man’s game!” Those that think flourish and those that don’t keep bumping their heads while living in foolishness. Well playas…add Adrian Peterson to the list of folks living in foolishness.

According to The Athletic, ole boy is being sued for $5.2 million for failing to repay a loan. Peterson owes, after interest and legal fees $6.6 million to DeAngelo Vehicle Sales, which claims in a lawsuit that he defaulted on a loan. He apparently borrowed money from them to pay other cats off. Not only does he owe the $5.2 million but he owes two other creditors a total of $3 million.

I call it foolishness because A.D.’s made over $100 million during his playing career. Peterson’s attorney, Chase Carlson, had this to say in a statement about this foolishness. “The truth behind Adrian Peterson’s current financial situation is more than is being reported at this time. Because of ongoing legal matters, I am unable to go into detail, but I will say this is yet another situation of an athlete trusting the wrong people and being taken advantage of by those he trusted. Adrian and his family look forward to sharing further details when appropriate.”

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! How many times do we have to keep hearing these same stories? A dun makes a fortune only to look up and he’s broke because Ray-Ray, Man-Man, Uncle LeRoy and the dude that knew how to tie a tie and wear a suit was handling his money. The athlete trusted the guy in the suit because his shoes were shining, Man-Man told him that he knew what he was doing and now the dun is broke.

Peterson just signed a two-year deal with the Redskins worth up to $5 million that includes annual incentives of $1.5 million. So let’s say that he hits all of his incentives and he makes the whole $6.5 million. He’s still playing those two seasons for free because he owes creditors more than he’ll even make before taxes. Foolishness!

How do you make $100 million and still owe folks money? When is this foolishness going to stop? I could sit here and name all kinds of athletes that have told the same exact story Adrian Peterson is telling right now and it’s nobody’s fault but his. Big Momma always said, “You can’t trust everybody” and “Everybody ain’t yo friend.”

And before some cat jumps on here saying that he isn’t broke because his net worth is showing that he’s worth $30 million. If you owe boyz money and you have to borrow from Peter to pay Paul and Paul still doesn’t get paid while Peter is starting to look for his money back too you’re broke. I don’t care how much money you think you’re sitting on because the feds, at some point, is coming to collect. It’s like the hyenas in the Lion King rolling up on Star. When you owe you owe and there’s no getting around it. Stop me when I start lyin’!
