The neighbor’s walls get justice but not Breonna Taylor! “Tired of Being Sick and Tired”

I can remember being a little boy and constantly hearing the old timers say, “I’m tired of being sick and tired.” More often than not they were talking about the injustice and racism in America. Now that I’m 53 years old with grown children I’m still tired of being sick and tired.

The same racism and blatant injustice that my parents, grandparents and great-grandparents were sick of, my children are now sick of. On Wednesday the Kentucky Attorney General, a black man, stood up in front of the world and announced that no police officer would be charged in the death of Breonna Taylor. Not one!

Instead, one officer, Brett Hankison was charged with three counts of wanton endangerment for shooting through the walls and into neighboring apartments. The walls got more justice than a black woman’s life.

All across the sports world players reacted including Lakers star LeBron James as he tweeted, ” I’m devastated, hurt, sad, mad! We want Justice for Breonna yet justice was met for her neighbors apartment walls and not her beautiful life. Was I surprised at the verdict. Absolutely not but damnit I was & still am hurt and heavy hearted! I send my love to Breonna mother, family and friends! I’m sorry! I’m sorry! I’m sorry!!

Everyone with a soul should feel the same way about this. It shouldn’t be just black folks from Louisville that are devastated. Everyone with a heart and blood pumping through their veins should be outraged.

More than anything, I’m blown away by the amount of people on social media that are making comments that we should be outraged by the fact that Breonna’s boyfriend shot at police while serving a warrant that caused the police to shoot back. That is the foolishness that fuels the racist thought process in America.

If a white man was in his home in the middle of the night and someone hit the door with a battering ram and no one identified themselves as the police. He would have every right to defend his home. However, a black man isn’t supposed to.

The AG, Daniel Cameron, stood in front of millions and sold a lie to America that his office investigated this tragedy to the fullest and that there was a witness that said the police did, in fact, identified themselves while entering the home.

If there was no wrong doing on behalf of the police in the shooting death of Breonna Taylor. Then why did the city of Louisville just pay her family $12 million? That’s inconsistent with logical thinking. If no one did anything wrong then why give her family the money? We’re tired of being sick and tired!
