Winston Churchill once said, “The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is.” Ismail Haniyeh, a senior political leader of Hamas, gave it to us like this, “Some people think that the truth can be hidden with a little cover-up and decoration. But as time goes by, what is true is revealed, and what is fake fades away.” Then the big homie, Galileo, hit boyz in the dome with, “All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered; the point is to discover them.”
Well playas…the University of Wisconsin has finally bein’ put on blast for not treatin’ black students of color with the respect that they deserve. On Monday more than 20 football players on the school’s team as well as basketball player Nigel Hayes along with other student-athletes took to Twitter to demand change in racial inequalities on the yard. The joint said that black athletes “are loved during competition but then subjected to racial discrimination in our everyday lives too.”
Now this all comes in response to two cats showin’ up at the school’s home football game on Halloween weekend on Oct. 29th where one cat wore masks of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton with a noose around their necks. The other fool had on a Donald Trump mask and led the first man around by the noose. The crazy thing about this foolishness is that they were asked to take the joints off but were not asked to leave the game. And the dun later put it back on like it wasn’t a trip. And nobody tripped!!
Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! Sure, the university chancellor read a dull prepared statement at the faculty senate meetin’ that said, “I have heard from students, faculty and community members who are dissatisfied with our response, and I understand why. A noose is the symbol of some of the worst forms of racial hatred and intimidation in our country’s history. We understand this, and we should have communicated that more forcefully from the very beginning. … I understand the deeply hurtful impact this particularly has on our students and communities of color.”
So they revoked the season tickets of the fools involved in this nonsense.
However, it doesn’t change the fact that the university didn’t care until the student-athletes put them on blast!! I’ve been tellin’ you boyz for several years now that the University of Wisconsin was on one when they kept showin’ up with a Division I basketball program at a darn state school under former coach Bo Ryan with only 3 black players on the squad! In 2015 I wrote several Hot Joints bringin’ it up boyz thought I was crazy and just tryin’ to be controversial. How do you have a full hoop squad in 2015 at a major college with no brothers?
For years I’ve been askin’ the question. Either Bo Ryan did it on purpose or the climate inside that basketball program or university itself is not very invitin’ to young black players where they feel comfortable enough bein’ there. Either way it’s a problem! Why? Because at the time it was impossible to have a state school’s basketball program with only 3 brothers! It’s Impossible!!
Bruh…the best players available are normally black about 70 to 80 percent of the time. This isn’t my opinion pimpin’ these are the facts. If 80 to 85 percent of the McDonald’s All-Americans are black then the facts speak for themselves playa. Look around the country and see who’s on the floor. Black players! But not at Wisconsin under Bo Ryan! Why?
Every time I would see Wisconsin take the floor I would think that I’m watchin’ the movie “Glory Road” when Kentucky showed up with an all-white startin’ line-up and Texas Western walked into the joint with 5 brothers for the first time in NCAA history. Keep in mind that that was in 1966 bruh!
Again, what was goin’ on inside of that program where they can be a winner every year and brothers aren’t goin’ up there to play? Don’t tell me that there wasn’t enough black players out here hoopin’ because EVERYBODY had brothers on the floor. There were 9 black players at Harvard in the freakin’ Ivy League at the same time!!!! So don’t tell me that they couldn’t qualify to get in because it’s a darn state school! There were 5 brothers playin’ at Northwestern which is the Ivy League of the freakin’ Big Ten!!!! Again, that was in 2015!
But here’s the funny thing bruh. Now that Bo Ryan is gone there are 7 back players on the Badgers current roster. That’s more than a 100% increase in black players in a little over a year. Whereas, Bo kept the joint to 3 for years. I’m just sayin’! It sounds fishy to me.
Gettin’ back to this current foolishness, what’s goin’ on at Wisconsin where the black athletes don’t feel welcomed or appreciated?
And why does it take 20 football players, and other student-athletes to put the school on blast more than a week after the noose incident occurred before the powers-that-be decided to do something about it? I’ll tell you why bruh? Because it’s obvious that there’s a lot more goin’ on up there than boyz want to admit. Stop me when I start lyin’!
