Why Tom Crean, Kelvin Sampson or Mike Davis were the problem at IU! “Business Model”

"What do you want me to do bruh?"

On Thursday Indiana University finally pushed Tom Crean out of the ride like ole Eddie Kane Jr. Everybody and their baby’s momma knew that he would come flyin’ out of the window after this season ended with a dull loss at Georgia Tech in the extremely pitiful NIT. Ole boy finished his career in Bloomington with the second worse winnin’ percentage in school history with at least 100 games at .551! The only cat worse than that was Lou Watson that coached from 1966-71.

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! I know that there was NO way boyz could keep Crean around after he and his staff completely wet the bed in Atlanta this week in the NIT. Why? Because the season was already a dumpster fire. They started off this foolishness agreein’ to drive to Fort Wayne to play a darn game on a commuter campus and they ended the season agreein’ to fly to Atlanta to play a lower seed in the NIT only to lose.

Sure, that’s on Tom Crean for losin’ the darn games, not to mention goin’ 18-16 overall and 7-11 in the Big Ten. But who’s holdin’ the dull administration accountable for doin’ a terrible job of managin’ all of this foolishness in the first place!! Where’s Fred Glass, the athletic director, in all of these dumb decisions.

I’m not trippin’ on Crean bein’ Crean! I’m trippin’ on the dun that kept him employed for 9 years with the second worse winnin’ percentage in school history. I’m trippin’ on an administration that’s so delusional that they still think that IU is an elite program that it has the ability to pick and choose what players will come to Indiana to hoop.

I’m really trippin’ on the administration that thinks that it’s too good to EVER go to the ghetto or any urban area and recruit. They still think that IU is above goin’ to the junior colleges around this country and grabbin’ kids that can ball. They’re still walkin’ around turnin’ their noses up at boyz like those 5 banners actually still mean something to kids comin’ out of high school.

Let me put it where the goats can get it. The last time IU won a title I was a sophomore at Purdue about to transfer to IU the followin’ semester. That was 30 years ago playboy!! Cats that were born that year are now 30 years old. Think about that. So what makes you think that a high school kid gives two dead flies smashed about those banners hangin’ up in Assembly Hall?

So please come off of your high horse long enough to humble yourself to see that you’ve got to change your business model if you want to compete in today’s college basketball world.

You can change coaches all you want playa but if you don’t change the level of thinkin’ at the administrative level you’re goin’ to fire the next dun within 5 years too. And we’ll be havin’ this same dumb conversation all over again.

You’ve got to get the best players regardless of where they’re from, the suburbs, rural America and the ghetto. You’ve go to recruit at the junior college level as well. And whether you want to or not you’ve got to take a chance on some knuckle heads too. Why? Because everybody else does and you’ve got to compete with EVERYBODY else.

You’ve just got to hire coaches that understand how to handle the knuckle heads. That means that you’ve gotta have cats on the staff that grew up in the same type of environment as some of these kids that have come through the same adversity. It’s doable but you’ve got to be willin’ to do it playa. You can’t go get a lion without havin’ a lion tamer on staff. He understands the the temperament of the lion so he’s better equipped to handle it.

In other words, if you’re goin’ to recruit players from the ghetto with all types of baggage then you’ve got to have some cats on staff that understand how to unpack that baggage.

But as long as you keep tryin’ to keep a team full of nice guys you’re always gonna be 18-16 overall and 7-11 in the Big Ten sittin’ at the crib watchin’ March Madness.

It’s real out here bruh and if you’re goin’ to compete with the big dawgs then you’ve gotta do what the big dawgs do. You’ve go to be willin’ to take the “One and Done” players and some of the problems that potentially come with recruitin’ them. Why do you care if the dun graduates or not? All you’re tryin’ to do is win games and make money. Let’s keep it real. So why do you care about only havin’ a team full of nice guys? The next head coach isn’t goin’ to keep his job because he’s got a team full of nice guys that will graduate. Ask Ty Willingham how that worked out at Notre Dame? His teams had the highest GPA in recent history at the school and they fired him

You don’t really care if these duns graduate anyway. It’s the freakin’ player’s responsibility to graduate not the university’s. You’re pimpin’ them anyway. It’s no different than the regular students on campus. As long as I paid tuition every year they could care less as to whether I graduated. I met with a counselor the day I enrolled at IU and put my schedule together. She never called me or checked on me for three years. I graduated 27 years ago and haven’t seen that women since the day I put my first schedule together.

It’s all a pimp game but IU can’t even figure that out and that’s why it’s scramblin’ around lookin’ for a coach today. Stop me when I start lyin’!

Playas Thesaurus:

1) Dun: noun – the person in question, dude, guy, etc. It’s whoever I’m talkin’ about and its non-gender specific.

2) Put it where the goats can get it: verb phrase – to make it as elementary as possible. To put it at ground level so everyone can understand it.
