Why the WNBA Prez sounds like a fool tellin’ boyz the players are important! “Scramblin”

Members of the New York Liberty basketball team shout after a team huddle prior to a game against the Atlanta Dream, Wednesday, July 13, 2016 in New York. Between the Black Lives Matter movement, the Orlando shooting and the LGBT community, more WNBA players have been taking active roles in expressing their views on social issues. In the midst of “Camp Day” at the New York Liberty's mid-morning game Wednesday, Liberty players stood in solidarity as they donned all-black warmups in support of the Black Lives Matter movement. “In our Puffy voice, ‘We Ain’t Go-In’ No-Where!'”

Weird Al Yankovich once said, “You fake something until you’re good at it.” Arthur Herzog broke it down like this, “To fake it is to stand guard over emptiness.” Then Ismail Haniyeh put it where the goats could get it when he spit, “Some people think that the truth can be hidden with a little cover-up and decoration. But as time goes by, what is true is revealed, and what is fake fades away.”

Well playas…the WNBA’s president, Lisa Borders, finally opened her mouth to show the world just how fake she really was. Ole girl says that she applauds the league’s players for takin’ a stance on social issues but wishes that they would keep that foolishness off of the court. Now she didn’t actually say foolishness bruh but the hood’s interpretation of it comes out foolishness. She’s really tellin’ boyz to go head on with that. She goes on to say that she, the union and the executive council has been meetin’ for the past two weeks to try to come up with a way that the league and players could address the Black Lives Matter Movement but they can’t come up with anything.

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! That’s code for, “I can’t convince these duns to ride with me on this.” They came up with something alright! They decided to fine these duns $500 a pop for wearin’ black warm up tops for speakin’ out on this social issue. What blows mind is that the normal fine for not bein’ in uniform is $200 but for the Black Lives Matter Movement it goes up to $500! Ain’t that a blip?

Then she turns around and tells the Associated Press on Friday night, “We were making every effort to engage our players. We made an effort to support them and we were trying to get them to come to the table to have a conversation. The players have an open invitation with the league. Our players are important to us. We believe in them. We want them to be the people they are and we’re proud of them. We want to make sure they play well on the court and they are happy off the court.”

How are you makin’ every effort to engage and support them when you just dissed them? How are they important to you when you shut down their voices? How do you believe in them when you tell them to go head on with that foolishness?

More than 70 percent of the duns in the league are black! Boyz kill me actin’ like when you become a professional of any kind that you should no longer be concerned about what happens in the black community. EVERY black professional athlete isn’t  tryin’ to be Michael Jordan bruh and remain silent about EVERYTHING!!  Most of them have a voice and are willin’ to use it.

Give the players in the WNBA tall props for speakin’ out because they aren’t makin’ the type of bread that the NBA boyz are makin’! So that $500 a clip hurts. That was a real sacrifice!

Lisa Borders sounds like a fool tellin’ them that they’re important to her and that she wants them to be happy. Where’s she from? And she’s black!!!! Yeah and I know that she’s got sponsors that she’s gotta keep happy but if she disses the players there won’t be a game to sponsor.

The sponsors had no problem with them wearin’ shirts to support the Orlando shootings a few weeks ago. But when it comes to Black Lives Matter boyz suddenly have a problem with it. What you’re really sayin’ is that my sponsors don’t care about black folks and their issues so I gotta roll with them even though I understand your pain. Just chill out and we’ll get through this. Hopefully Jordan can come in and do a seminar on “How NOT to Use Your Power of Influence to Make a Difference in this World. Just sell a boy some shoes instead!”

And for all the folks that get offended by the term “Black Lives Matter” let me take you to school real quick. Just because the campaign says “Black Lives Matter” doesn’t mean that ALL other lives don’t matter! It’s an emphasis on the reality of “some” police in this country killin’ black folks as if those lives don’t matter to “those” officers. When you act like they “don’t” matter there has to be an emphasis put on where the problem is bruh. When year after year, month after month and day after day we see black men and women bein’ killed by the police in situations that shouldn’t end in death it’s a problem. So to reinforce that “Black Lives Matter” is important. We’ve gotta love each other!

When we celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month and everybody puts on their pink in October we aren’t sayin’ that ALL of the other cancers aren’t important! When November roles around and it’s Diabetes Awareness month we aren’t sayin’ that ALL other chronic diseases aren’t important. When duns put together a Gay Pride Parade they aren’t sayin’ that heterosexuals aren’t important. They’re only emphasizin’ the importance of those movements because they can simply identify with them.

What boyz gotta understand out here is that the greatest impact of protest is to effect the bread. If players decided to boycott the league for a few days Black Lives Matter would no longer need to be a movement to explain. If the players in NBA told a boy that they weren’t playin’ for a week duns would be scramblin’ to come up with solutions. If nothin’ else, they would be allowed wear those darn shirts. And that’s the edited version.

Why on earth would a league that NEEDS viewers worse than Prince needed high heels shoes in a wading pool tell it’s players to be quiet on a polarizing issue such as this? Controversy sell tickets and increases the amount of eye balls watchin’ this.  Stop me when I start lyin’!

2) Dun: noun – the person in question, dude, guy, etc. It’s whoever I’m talkin’ about and its non-gender specific.

3) Put it where the goats can get it: verb phrase – to make it as elementary as possible. To put it at ground level so everyone can understand it.
