Why Purdue’s Jeff Brohm would be crazy not to take the Tennessee job if it’s offered! “Delusion is Real”

Everybody and their baby’s momma up in West Lafayette or duns affiliated with the Purdue Boilermakers are on edge this week because of the rumors of Tennessee tryin’ to holler at a boy. Accordin’ to my mans and nem the Volunteers have turned their head coachin’ search to Jeff Brohm and they’re actively spittin’ game.

The problem is, Purdue’s got no game to spit back and their pockets aren’t as big. Well…let me put it this way, First of all, Purdue’s not in the south where football is king. Secondly, they aren’t willin’ to invest the type of bread that it would take to compete with an SEC school for a very good football coach.

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! It’s like a cat tryin’ to hold on to his girl but there’s only so much he can offer her in the relationship and a big baller shot caller slides up on the side of her. He looks just as good, talks the same talk, will be far more loyal to her “if” he treats her right and can take her to far more places. No brainer.

Let’s face it bruh, Jeff Brohm is on the come up!! He’s 46 years old and is only one year into coachin’ at the Power 5 Conference level and he’s made a HUGE name for himself. In only three seasons at Western Kentucky he piled up a 30-10 record from 2014-16. Then he shows up at Purdue, who in the four season prior to him comin’ to West Lafayette, were 9-39 combined and he bangs out a solid 6-6 record in year one and takes them to a bowl game.

Who in their right mind thought that he’d be at Purdue long? If you did you’re delusional. Programs like the Boilermakers are unfortunately steppin’ stone programs (in football) if a coach is really good. Why? Because they’re is too much bread rollin’ around college football right now.

Will Jeff Brohm win at Tennessee? Probably not! Will he get paid down at Tennessee? Absolutely!!! Look bruh…this is a business! It’s never personal. But the duns down in Knoxville are willin’ to shower him with probably double the bread that Purdue is willin’ to pay him. Why? Because they’re delusional enough to believe that they can compete for a national title down there. That’s why? Can they? Absolutely not!! It’s a middle of the road SEC program at best.

It’s no different than Bret Bielema leavin’ Wisconsin to go to dull Arkansas. They paid him through the nose to come down there. He went, got paid and eventually got fired a few weeks ago. Lets face it bruh, if you’re coachin’ in this business you’re eventually goin’ to get fired. So you may as well get all of the bread you can get in the process.

There are very few cats that will coach and not get fired. It is what it is. If ole boy stays at Purdue he’ll eventually get fired. Why? Because it’s the nature of the beast. They’ll win 6 to 8 ball games at their very best because it’s Purdue and the fan base will become delusional as always. They’ll go to 7 or 8 consecutive bowl games and duns around the program will start to believe that they should be competin’ for Big Ten titles every year and demand better.

They’ll run him out of town just like they did with Joe Tiller, fall back to complete mediocrity and start the process all over again. So Brohm may as well double his salary now, take the bread at Tennessee and get fired in four years. It’s a game and everybody’s playin’ it.

Purdue can chase down an extremely good coach in Kevin Sumlin (Purdue grad and Indy native) who is on the market right now. He was fired from Texas A&M last week despite havin’ a winnin’ record of 51-26 overall in College Station and 7-5 this season. That’s the delusion I was just talkin’ about. It is what it is and Brohm would be crazy not to take the job if it’s offered. Stop me when I start lyin’!

The G is excluded from the endings of all words because the G is near and dear to my heart because I’m from “The G” which is Gary, Indiana. So I only use the G when I’m talkin’ about “The G!”
