Why most fans ONLY see protests as bein’ permissible when it benefits them! “Selfishness”

"I got you bruh!"

The old timers have always said that we tend to find out who people really are durin’ our worse times. Well playas…the older I get the more I’ve realized the truth in that statement. The reason that they call it wisdom is because you only get it after you’ve been through something.

I’m blown away at the amount of people in this country that are only concerned about themselves. Whatever happened to love thy neighbor and do unto others as you would have them do unto you or the greatest assets you can ever have is love and compassion?

Like clockwork I hear fans that don’t look like many of these young black pro athletes tellin’ them to just shut up and play ball. Here is an actual comment that was left on my Instagram @TheJayGravesReport page in regards to Hot Joint I wrote about Michael Bennett sittin’ durin’ national anthem on Sunday entitled “Sittin’.

“You have always been my favorite Seahawk until now. You are using the wrong venue for your protest. This is a sports arena and people go there to have a good time and do not need someone ruining their time because you don’t like something that you think is wrong. Either you want to play football or you want to draw attention to yourself.”

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! What she was really sayin’ was that “I could care less about what you or your family have to deal with in this country. That has absolutely nothin’ to do with me or mine. You mean nothin’ to me so just entertain me for the next two and a half hours so that I can get on with my life.”

It’s like these athletes are gladiators or in other words, slaves only to be enjoyed when the people decide it’s time for entertainment. They don’t care that Michael Bennett, Colin Kaepernick, Marshawn Lynch or anyone that looks like them that are negatively impacted by some bad police officer that decides that it’s permissible to take a person’s life at a traffic stop for a burned out tail light or for speedin’.

None of that matters to the dun that paid for a ticket to tonight’s ball game because no one in their family has been negatively impacted. No one that looks like them or that they know of has been killed for tellin’ a police officer that “I’m reachin’ for my wallet so please don’t shoot me?”

It’s a shame that there are more people in America today that feel the same way this person on my Instagram page feels about the situation than those with real compassion for change and equal justice. But why am I surprised? People only care about what affects them and theirs right?

One hundred percent of folks that hate Kaepernick don’t even understand why they hate him. Why? Because no one thinks for themselves bruh. The standard reply to the question of why don’t you like Kaepernick is “He disrespected the flag and the military.” Every single person makin’ that statement is tellin’ the world just how ignorant they are of what their own flag, military and what their Constitution actually says.

The flag represents freedom! The military are those people that protects those freedoms. The First Amendment of the Constitution give us the right to peaceably protest. Last I checked, Kaepernick and others were peaceably protestin’ by simply kneelin’ or sittin’ durin’ the national anthem. They weren’t runnin’ through the streets of Charlottesville with fire, sticks and other weapons runnin’ people over with cars.  Nor were they ridin’ along the country side burnin’ churches and hangin’ black folks with white bed sheets over their heads because they were too ashamed to let anyone know who they actually were.

So to say that it’s disrespectful is to be ignorant of what America really stands for. To say that it’s disrespectful is to say that I don’t care about your problem. You should have been born white. That’s really what it says playboy. To have no compassion for your fellow Americans is to really be un-American.

It is through protest that we all have gotten to this point in American history. Boyz want to forget that on December 16, 1773 a bunch of duns known as the “Sons of Man” jumped onto British ships and threw tea into the Boston Harbor in protest of the British Parliament’s Tea Act of 1773 which catapulted us into the American Revolution.

Now you do realize what the word revolution means don’t you. For all of you simple minded individuals it means protest. If not for protest these United States would still be British colonies. If not for protest the cats that make up 70 percent of the NFL and the NBA would still be slaves in America. If not for protest there would be no women in the workforce or votin’ on election day. If not for protest there would be no LBGTQ communities or rights and privileges for them to marry etc. If not for protest in America there would be no equal rights. If not for protest bruh!!

So I guess protest is ONLY cool when it benefits you and yours. Once you’ve gotten your plate full it’s every man or woman for themselves huh? Without love for one another we’ll never move beyond the bigotry and hate that continues to destroy this country. Stop me when I start lyin’!

Playas Thesaurus:

1) Dun: noun – the person in question, dude, guy, etc. It’s whoever I’m talkin’ about and its non-gender specific.

The G is excluded from the endings of all words because the G is near and dear to my heart because I’m from “The G” which is Gary, Indiana. So I only use the G when I’m talkin’ about “The G!”
