Why Marshawn Lynch and Michael Bennett are just the tip of the iceberg this season! “Sittin'”

Nelson Mandela once said, “Where globalization means, as it so often does, that the rich and powerful now have new means to further enrich and empower themselves at the cost of the poorer and weaker, we have a responsibility to protest in the name of universal freedom.” Ella Wheeler Wilcox broke it down like this, “To sin by silence, when we should protest, Makes cowards out of men.” Then Barack Obama put it where the goats could get it when he spit, “Let us remember we are all part of one American family. We are united in common values, and that includes belief in equality under the law, basic respect for public order, and the right of peaceful protest.”

Well playas…the key words in all of that were “the right” and “peaceful protest” and it’s like Chris Brown up in the NFL right now. “On and Poppin’!” Not only did Marshawn Lynch sit durin’ the National Anthem on Saturday with nothin’ to say to boyz but the Seahawks Michael Bennett sat too and then told boyz straight up why so there would be no confusion as to what it means.

Ole boy poured out a lil’ liquor for all the dead homies when he said, “First of all, I want people to understand that I love the military. My father’s in the military. I love hot dogs like any other American. I love football like any other American. But I don’t love segregation. I don’t love riots or oppression. I just want to see people have the equality that they deserve. And I want to be able to use this platform to continuously push the message of that.”

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! I know y’all didn’t think that Colin Kaepernick was the only brother in the league that felt the way he did about this foolishness goin’ on out here did you? It’s impossible to think that Kaepernick is alone in the struggle for equality in America. It’s crazy that people thought that by not signin’ Kaep that the problem would simply die off and it would be business as usual.

The NFL and NBA are 70 percent black bruh! You’ve got to know that boyz aren’t feelin’ the way their homie is bein’ treated not only by the owners but by the fans. And now that you’ve got these clowns in Charlottesville actin’ a darn fool it’s probably goin’ to be on steroids by the time the season starts with cats protestin’and lettin’ their voices be heard.

If this is goin’ to be America then America has to stand on it’s fundamental principles. Check this out! The second paragraph of the Declaration of Independence starts with, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.” 

Now I know that when that was written folks that looked like Marshawn and Michael were considered three-fifths of a man but in the hypocritical voice of Thomas Jefferson, “We hold these truths to be self-evident” today!! I say that Jefferson was a hypocrite because the dun said it while ownin’ slaves himself.

The arrogance of fans thinkin’ that these players were goin’ to just shut up and play is ridiculous. They’ve got families livin’ in the very communities that are infested with dirty police officers and those that know the truth of dirty cops but won’t say a word while they’re pullin’ people over, harassin’ them and unfortunately killin’ some of them too.

Don’t fix your mouth to tell me that it’s only 1 or 2 percent of cops that are bad when many times the entire police department knows who the bad cops are and they sit by silently and allows it to continue to take place. That’s called a systemic problem from the prosecutor’s office down bruh. To be silent is to be complicit.

So I’m sittin’ in the cut watchin’ this foolishness play out because Marshawn and Michael are simply the tip of the iceberg this season and guess what playa? They can’t blackball everybody and if they tried to there wouldn’t be a league to watch. In order for change to come there has to be protest. Since the beginnin’ of time it’s been this way. Which side of change will you be on bruh? Pick ya poison and stop me when I start lyin’!
