Why Indiana would have been better off keepin’ Tom Crean or hirin’ me! “Missed”

In my Fat Joe voice, "I'm all the way up!"

The Indiana Hoosiers announced on Saturday that they’ve hired Archie Miller from Dayton to take over as the new head basketball coach. They signed ole boy to a seven year deal too!!! He led the Flyers to a 24-8 record and their very first Atlantic 10 Championship this year. He took them to the NCAA Tournament 4 out of his six years in Dayton compilin’ a 139-63 winnin’ 24 games or more in each of his last four seasons!!! Sounds great doesn’t it?

Well playas…let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! IU may as well have kept Tom Crean or hired me to take over the darn program. Why? Because they simply hired a dun that they could tell what to do. It’s the freakin’ Dallas Cowboys all over again. Jerry Jones only hires head coaches that he can control. That’s why they live in mediocrity because nothin’ ever changes.

Indiana went and found a boy that’s 38 years old that is simply happy to get a step up job. He’s lookin’ at the program and it’s history, admirin’ the monster facilities and the beautiful campus! It looks like the freakin’ Taj Mahal compared to Dayton. So why wouldn’t he take the job? They probably threw a truck load of bread his way, relative to what Dayton could pay him, and now they’ve got him hook, line and sinker.

He’s not goin’ to fight with the powers that be about changin’ the culture down there because he’s just happy to be there. He wouldn’t dare tell a trustee or a big time booster that we’ve got to put the names on the backs of the jerseys and get rid of the corny candy strips and funky up the gear.

He wouldn’t dare tell them that he’s got to have free reign to recruit any and all types of kids like JUCO transfers and duns from the projects. Naw…not a cat that’s on the come up at 38 years old that’s still relatively wet in the shoes. Who’s ever heard of Archie Miller? I know who he is but that’s what the duns that are really runnin’ IU basketball are goin’ to tell him when he tells a boy what he has to do in order to recruit and win. He’s got no power because the A10 ain’t the Big Ten playa.

Sure, Indiana is fertile ground for recruitin’ the best basketball players in the country. I cover the NBA and it seems like every night there’s a dun from Indiana comin’ in to play against the Pacers. Heck, there are two Indiana kids on the Pacers roster right now, Glenn Robinson III and Jeff Teague.

Here’s the problem, new wet behind the ears head coach at Indiana University, NONE OF THEM PLAYED FOR THE HOOSIERS!!!! Well…except for Cody Zeller, Victor Oladipo and now Yogi Ferrell. Yeah, they signed Eric Gordon for a “one and done” year but only because Kelvin Sampson talked him into comin’ and they fired that dun for textin’ him too much! How bout that?

For the same reasons that all of the other cats that shot the bird at IU since 1988, boyz will continue to shoot it at them because nothin’ has changed with hirin’ a dun that the powers that be can and will control. There is a reason why duns like Rick Fox (UNC), Glenn Robinson (Purdue, POY), all three of the Plumlee brothers, Mason, Miles and Marshall (Duke), they missed on two of the Zeller brothers, Tyler and Luke (UNC and ND), Rodney Carney (Memphis), Josh McRoberts (Duke), Zach Randolph (Michigan State), Greg Oden (OSU), Mike Conley (OSU), George Hill (IUPUI), Shawn Kemp (UK, JUCO), Sean May (UNC), Jeff and Marquis Teague (Wake Forest and UK) Courtney Lee (Western Kentucky), Eric Montross (UNC), Luke Harongody (ND), Robbie Hummel, E’Twan Moore and JaJuan Johnson (Purdue), Gordon Hayward (Butler), Gary Harris (Michigan State) Glenn Robinson III (Michigan), Mitch McGary (Michigan) and Trey Lyles (Kentucky) decided not to go to Bloomington. And that’s just up through the 2015 NBA draft bruh. And I know that I’m missin’ another 7 or 8 cats but these are off the top of my head.

There are cats still ballin’ at the college level playin’ in the NCAA Tournament from the state that didn’t even fart IU’s way. Zak Irvin at Michigan is from Fishers, Trevon Bluiett at Xavier is from Indy and Bryant McIntosh at Northwestern is from Greensburg!!

If IU couldn’t sign any of them with Bobby Knight, Mike Davis, Kelvin Sampson or Tom Crean. What makes you think that some dun named Archie Miller from Dayton is goin’ to get boyz to come to Bloomington?  Yeah, good luck with that and stop me when I start lyin’!
