While everybody and their baby’s momma thinks that it’s a shoe in that Golden State and Cleveland will be sittin’ in the Finals in June there are some boyz down in San Antonio that’ll have something to say about that. The Western Conference finals tips this afternoon at 3:30pm Eastern. It’s the league’s best offense against the league’s best defense and something has to give.
While everybody is hollerin’ about KD and Co. puttin’ in work on boyz goin’ 67-15 to post the NBA’s best record. They loss two out of the three games they played the Spurs this season and it all came down to shootin’ the 3-ball. Pop and Co. shut them down from behind the arc in the first two games limitin’ these duns to 12 of 50 shootin’ (24 percent) to win both of those games.
Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! In my hood vernacular, “It ain’t gone be no cake walk for Golden State!” This series will come down to who can defend the three ball the best. The Warriors led the league in defensive 3-point shootin’ percentage at 32.4 and the Spurs were fifth at 34.4. However, when we look at the ability to shoot the 3-ball nobody shot that joint better than the Spurs! They tossed it around at 39.1 percent and the Warriors were third at 38.3!!
If you’d asked 100 cats who shoots the three better between these two teams 101 of them would have said the Warriors. That’s the foolishness that I’m talkin’ about bruh. Everybody assumes but nobody looks at the game through the eyes of the numbers. That’s why everybody and their Uncle Leroy, Pookie and Man-Man thinks that Jordan is the GOAT because nobody wants to look at the numbers. In the famous words of Jay-Z, “Men lie, Women lie, numbers don’t!”
So sit in the cut and pay close attention to this Western Conference finals bruh! Steve Kerr has ole dull Mike Brown coachin’ these boyz because of the back problems that he’s been havin’ and Poppovich is sittin’ in the back seat of the ride lickin’ his chops and in his Bart Scott voice, “Can’t Wait!”
Pop versus Mike Brown coachin’? Are you kiddin’ me? Pop is about to run circles around this dun in that department. So if Golden State has ANY chance of winnin’ this series it’s goin’ to have to be because they’ve clearly got better players and they’re ballin’ out of control.
Well playas, that may not happen because Pop is a better coach and he’s not goin’ to allow their talent to just get loose like that. Mike Brown is officially in over his head now. The Spurs beat these duns twice this year with Kerr on the sideline bruh. So if he can’t go in this series it’s gonna be a serious problem. Look for Pop to put on the full clown suit in this series.
