Why Glenn Robinson III is good for business and basketball for the Pacers: G-Blood

"Boyz from The G do it big!"

Colin Powell once said, “There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure.” Elbert Hubbard, the famous writer, broke it down like this, “The best preparation for good work tomorrow is to do good work today.” Then Confucius shut the buildin’ down when he spit, “Success depends upon previous preparation, and without such preparation there is sure to be failure.”

Well playas…I’ll go to my grave tellin’ boyz that the best preparation for success is to be from the ghetto! If you can survive there you can survive ANYWHERE. Pacers wing man Glenn Robinson III may not have grown up in the ghetto but his momma and daddy grew up in my hometown of Gary In. and that’s good enough. Why? Because if his momma and daddy is from the G then he’s got G-Blood and it runs strong. No suburb can ever water it down.

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! I grew up just blocks away from Lil’ Glenn’s daddy, Glenn Robinson, better known to the world as the “Big Dawg” but intimately known in the hood as simply G Rob. So when the Pacers picked up my homeboy’s son over the summer I knew that he was ready to put in work. Why? Because he’s got the right blood flowin’ through his veins.

After leavin’ Michigan followin’ his sophomore season Lil’ Glenn was selected 40th by dull Minnesota. Then later picked up by even dull-er Philly. Two bad situations wasn’t a good look for a young cat tryin’ to find his way in the NBA.

Then all of a sudden, the Pacers didn’t make the playoffs and decided to change philosophy and go smaller and faster. So in Larry Bird’s quest to find more versatile players, Lil’ Glenn was an easy option to add more depth on the wing.

Because he’s got that G-Blood in him all of the real O.G.’s out here aren’t worried about him findin’ his way with cats like Frank Vogel and Larry Bird guidin’ him along the way! And I’m not mad at Bird for understandin’ that by havin’ boyz from the state of Indiana on the team it’s good for ticket sales playa. Do you realize how many duns live in Indy that are from the G? Not to mention all of the folks with Purdue connections that love his daddy! Oh, it’s about to be Chris Brown up in this piece!  “On and poppin’!”

So not only will the “Hometown Hero” George Hill get a standin’ ovation as he usually does but now Lil’ G will get crazy love! All he’s gotta do now is listen to the boyz that signed him and he’ll be just fine! Frank isn’t goin’ to ask him to do anything that he’s not capable of doin’ in a backup role and Larry will show him how to be professional basketball player.

However, because he’s got that G-Blood in him he’s a fighter by nature so therefore, he’ll make the home front proud! G.I. Stand up and stop me when I start lyin’!
