Why Georgetown owed Pat Ewing a shot at rebuildin’ the program! “What”

"I'm back up in this piece bruh!"

On Monday boyz at Georgetown announced that they’ve hired Hall of Famer and former Hoya, Patrick Ewing, as their next head basketball coach. Can you say splash? They didn’t just run out and get a dun that knew how to coach they went and got a dun that boyz at Georgetown have to respect. In my Birdman voice, “Put some repeck on his name!”

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! Patrick Ewing IS Georgetown bruh! In 1981 he was the most coveted recruit in America and he chose to play at some school that NOBODY outside of D.C. had ever heard of. C’mon bruh! Before Ewing, nobody knew what Georgetown was in basketball terms. John Thompson pulled the biggest swoop in college basketball recruitin’ history at the time when he snagged him.

I can remember bein’ in the 8th grade and watchin’ a special on Patrick Ewing and he announced that he was goin’ to Gerogetown and we all looked up and said, “Who? Georgetown? Where is that at?” Then all of sudden everybody in the hood was rockin’ Georgetown gear because it was the only team in America that was all black! Black coach and players from the same hoods that we were from ballin’ on national television. They played for three national titles with Ewing and won one.

“Y’all remember this bruh! Don’t act like you don’t!”

If you lived in ANY HOOD, USA and you weren’t a Georgetown fan you would get your ghetto card taken and that’s real talk. Without Patrick Ewing goin’ to Georgetown there would never have been duns like Alonzo Mourning, Dikembe Mutombo and Allen Iverson  even thinkin’ about showin’ up in D.C. Sure, John Thompson recruited them all but Pat Ewing put him on the map to be able to holler at the other guys.

Think about it bruh, duns like Sleepy Floyd was already at Georgetown and we knew nothin’ about him until Ewing showed up.

So I think that if nothin’ else they owe him a shot at gettin’ the program out of the basement since he put it on the map in the first place. Especially, after John Thompson III destroyed the joint. With all of the NBA connections he has from coachin’ in the league for 15 years. He’s got the juice to tell a recruit what his chances of playin’ at the next level are or not.

It gives him instant credibility with players even though they didn’t see him play. They know that he’s coached in the NBA for years! And let’s keep it real, you don’t have to be a great coach to win at the college level. You just have to have some horses. Duns like Tom Cream (D. Wade) and John Calipari have been proven that point for years. Good luck playboy and I’ll miss seein’ you in these NBA streets!! Stop me when I start lyin’!

Playas Thesaurus:

1) Dun: noun – the person in question, dude, guy, etc. It’s whoever I’m talkin’ about and its non-gender specific.

The G is excluded from the endings of all words because the G is near and dear to my heart because I’m from “The G” which is Gary, Indiana. So I only use the G when I’m talkin’ about “The G!”
